as above, my fzr seems to have developed an oil leak from the water pump housing.

before i go ripping it apart im just wondering if anyone here has had this happen before?? from the parts diagram it looks like there is a seal at the rear of the housing (part no 5)

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Mine is doing the same thing
Have a look at the last few post's in my thread for the part number of the seal
You will need the 2x new o'ring's (part number 14 in diagram above) for the coolant pipe as well, chance's are they'll leak when you pull it apart and put it back together again
You need to take the bearing out then you can get to the seal to remove that

Hey Beano, have been wondering this myself.

I have a ever so slight droplet form on the housing. I clean it away, and it comes back. Interested to hear some expert opinions!

20170901_222226.jpg 20170901_222326.jpg 20170901_222444.jpg This is my spare water pump pulled apart, had a slight drip, was mainly noticeable when the bike had been parked after riding.

There is a small external circlip that hold's the impeller and shaft into the pump body, take that off and the shaft can slide out
Then you can place a flat head screwdriver in from the front and tap the bearing out by it's inner race.
Once the bearing is out you can do the same and tap the seal out.

The oem bearing is a Koyo 6000, and the oil seal is a 10x21x5
The mechanical seal's are fitted from the outside if needed and are easily available as they are used on over 100 Yamaha engine's

The o'ring's for the metal pipe i'm not 100% sure on the size, but the pipe o/d is 20mm, and the inside diameter of the alloy tube is 24mm
I'm not sure if that mean's they need a 20mm i/d 2mm thick o'ring, or whether they run something a touch larger to compress a little ?

There are 2 o'ring's for the alloy tube that bolt's to the bottom of the cylinder (Top of first pic) if you want to replace them at the same time, Litetek sell's them here
    You need 2x 93210-17746 OR-057
