I'm not sure what you mean by the two holes but i think I got the other one. The first picture is where it stops turning. The location where they fire are badly marked out in Sharpie.
    20200410_134603.jpg
When the firing mark is bang on, the cam timing is a fraction off, but i think thats from camchain stretching. 20200410_134640.jpg 20200410_134650.jpg
To get the cam marks perfect I have to turn the crank only about a degree or 2

This is your crankshaft timing mark.

When the crankshaft is in the position as in the picture, the dots on the camshafts must line up with the dots on the camshaft caps

It appears that your crankshaft is not in the correct position. Remove the camshafts, line up the timing mark on the crank with the arrow in the casting, and try again.

Man your a lifesaver. Guess it pays to double check what you think you know haha. What are the other two marks for then?

I'm unsure. From memory, there is the "T" with the line for TDC, and another long line with two marks at the end which is for checking the ignition advance (non adjustable, transistorised ignition)

Any ideas on fixing these scratches on the flywheel cover? Been for a slide or two I reckon.

Body filler worked great for about 90% of it. The tiny little scratches were a pain to get the filler in properly. I haven't got any paint for it yet so for now its gunna stay pink. With this whole virus thing the postage system is taking forever to get anything so I can't do much while waiting for parts. Next thing is the fairings. At first glance they look good, but if you look a bit closer theres a lot of small cracks around the mounting points and plenty of peeling decals. Anyone know of a site that prints custom decals? I can only find the motocross ones that cover the whole fairings. I just want the stickers for the FAI, EXUP and stuff. Ill repaint the rest of it first.

If you can send me pictures of the stickers you want and the size you want as well as colour, I should be able to make them up for you. I have a vinyl cutter and have made my own custom stickers in the sizes and colours I want for my GSF250 project. As far as cost goes, I'll work that out once I know sizes and colour etc I use Avery vinyl which is one of the highest quality vinyls available. I'll send pics of what I have done if you like. I printed up some custom red Suzuki decals today to go on the fuel tank. So can take pics of them before I put the transfer tape over the top.

That's unless you prefer OEM original decals only. If so, then, no worries.

Here is one of the fuel tank stickers I made today. I'm not 100% happy with it. Needs a little bit of smoothing out with the lettering.

But to get the fonts correct, I actually scan a real template/sticker picture that I find on the internet of what I want, then spend time cleaning the scan and plot up - which takes some time. A lot of the font types that are used by the OEM are not available online to download. Hence the scanning and importing it into the vinyl cut software process.

This decal is 21mm high and about 158mm long.. but I can make it any size I want, once I get the image cleaned up a bit more

Sorry its not a very good photo from my iphone. It looks way better in real life.

Mate that sounds amazing, thanks. I can clean the images up myself, wouldn't mind an excuse to finally get good with photoshop. Whats the best way to get the files to you? Just through DMs?

Carbie parts got here today finally, so I can begin putting things back on. Picked up some of the exup bits for a good price too, just need to find an cdi now. I was gunna get the carbs ultrasonically cleaned but instead i tried to make my own, and I rekon it looks pretty good. Ice cream container of petrol, got a little 12v motor from some old project, old 9v power supply and hotglued it to the side. Taped a spray paint can lid over the motor so it doesn't get knocked. Makes those cool vibrations on the petrol surface so I'll call that a success.

Righto so first hurdle: the plastic washers for the throttle shaft that come in the litetek kit don't really fit. With a plastic washer on both sides of the shaft, there isnt enough length to get the clip on with the metal washer, just enough with only the clip. Am i meant to ditch the metal washer?

Thanks, I've read that page before, good writeup. Im doing the number 4 carb at the moment, but i think its slightly different to the one used as an example. The no.4 throttle shaft in the guide doesnt have a retaining clip as far as i can see, mine does
