    Hi all.

I was thinking to replace my CV carburetor with something different and easy to manage. Does anyone know which is best to buy which is almost a bolt-on??

How much you want to spend?
Cheap trail bike Mikuni x 2 or go to some FCR Keihins, either will work.
For a different idea, I am fitting a single slide type carb to one of my twin cylinder Honda 250s to a, replace carbs I don't have with what I do have, b, to be a lot easier to tune and c, to be something different.

How easy is it to join 2 carburetors together? I mean like work together if they weren't originally? Are the the diameters the same or do I need to find ones which are the same?

Would need to be close to original size, although a bit smaller would be no problem.

If buying new then Mikuni VM are quite cheap.

Mikuni VM for preference. Available pre jetted from Sudco - they're usually pretty close too.

Murdo - a single carb on a 180 degree crank twin can be difficult to set up due to the uneven firing intervals.
If you've got room, a decent length inlet spacer might help.

IMG_0460.JPG Do you mean GSX 250? You have 350 in title. If so I have a set of mikuni VM 26 set up with a 2-1 cable that is sitting in my shed and up for sale. I was looking at this set up for my GSX. In the end I put the stock carbs back on and sold the bike.
I did have the bike running with these carbs but never looked into or played around with them enough to get the bike running correctly but it did idle and rev ok. (Only in the shed, never got it out on the road) Sounded bloody nice.

Let me know if you are keen.

No, you are dead right. Mid 1970's CJ250 Honda. I thought only the early CB/CL 72/77 were 180, but wrong again. I lifted the head from the spare engine this morning when in the shed and it is a 180 degree.
Had it running with the carb from a '72 XL250 and a one into two manifold and it seemed to run ok. Will know better when it is put together and ridden.
