Help GSX butchered wiring

    So I bought a complete engine complete with 2 pairs of carbs and coils. Now, in fairness I paid 99p and when I got there the guy didn't even want that so all happy so far.
    Now I've done a few projects but have always been lucky with electrics and they have always been plug and play. The most I've done is replace points.
    I asked the chap if he still had the cdi to which he replied "No it connects straight to the points"
    At the time i didn't question it but on the way home it dawned on me that my other two older suzukis both ran cdi's and after a little research discovered the gsx250 does too....
    Anyway for 99p i wasn't to worried. I have a manual in the post which i'm sure will help with some of my questions but i thought id try and post a couple of pictures on here and maybe someone can give me an idea of what wire go where. all of the wires have been cut and i have no clue where to start.
    I'm using the engine in a project gokart so i only need the basics. I'd like to use the electric start but im not to worried about charging so do i need a rectifier?
    Also will a gs250 cdi work.No.32900 47020. I know the connectors are different but I'm working with butchered wires andway. I've found one for £20
    My engine number is gs25x 135575 I think is around 83 84?

    whats the little blue one on its own?

    I assume the two joined together are live and the others go to the pickup via the missing cdi?

    Sorry my first post is so long but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry one last thing. What is the little condenser looking thing on the side of this one. I cant see it on any others ive looked at on ebay

    1937 Royal Enfield 250, CF Moto 250 V5, Honda's XL250, CBR250, FT500 plus a few others.
    Looks like a condenser, doesn't this run CDI?
    The little blue wire will be the neutral light.
    Don't need any wires from stator or rectifier if your running just on battery.

    That coil with the condensor might just be a spare off another earlier bike like a GS or GT or even a TS , i know the early GS750's used a condensor

    Some GSX-s had point ignition! The factory manual covers that.

    Maybe he wasn't so far off the mark then. Would i be right in assuming if it had points it wouldn't have pickups? I've not had chance to investigate further. Hopefully get chance next week and then decide if I'm going to start throwing money at it.

    No pickup coils then, yeah, instead there would be the contact breaker. If it has pickups then it's still an electronic ignition and you need the "Igniter" too.

    If it is electronic ignition the wiring you need to run these is very minimal and quite simple.
