    Hey Fuzzball
Just out of curiosity, would you know where I could procure an X7 engine, mine blew up yesterday.
Sad on a completely restored bike, thems the breaks.

    Bugger :o
Which part/parts went? You might be able to get a second hand set of cases and a few other bits from these guys
    http://www.twostrokeshop.com/two_stroke_shop_parts.htm
Complete engines I don't know of any around, other than mine, sorry.

Haven't dismantle the engine as of yet, however it appears the con rod has burst open the engine casing with metal fragments everywhere. Not the greatest outcome.

Ouch. Do you mind taking some photos as you pull it to bits? I'm interested to see what went wrong so I can avoid it myself. I did notice though, with the rods in one of my engines, that suzuki either bored the little ends off center, or they wear to one side.

    Hey Fuzzball

Will post some photos within the next few days. The more I wander around, the more metal fragments I seem to find.

Yuk. I had that once. Mine was caused by metal fatigue of the con rod causing it to snap.

Re: Re: Another X7 - street racer?

    Hey Bob

Was a tad sad :( to see metal fragments over the garage floor, the remnant of the con rod protruding out the front of the casing. But who's kidding who, the bike is 34 years old and I have no history on the bike.
We have found an engine, and plan to rebuild it and can keep blown engine for parts.
Thanks for your offer of help, will keep you posted.
    The joys of motoring.                                          Phil

Thats good news. Build it properly and you should get another 34 years out of it.

Yep, that's proper f*****! I wouldn't be surprised if that piston was seized as well...
Suziparts should have all the bits needed to rebuild your crank.
I would help with the strip down, but it's a bit of a ride up north...

I don't think a quadruple bypass will fix this. :o
