Discussion Half way get together (Northern NSW) - Lunatic Hotel

    1937 Royal Enfield 250, CF Moto 250 V5, Honda's XL250, CBR250, FT500 plus a few others.
    Would there be any interest in an overnight get together in say, Tenterfield for the Queenslanders and northern NSW members around about March/April next year?
    Am putting this up to see if any interest and for suggestions.
    Thinking that Tenterfield is about halfway between Brisbane and Tamworth, there are good twisty roads to get there from both ways, and would be a chance to put faces to names over a beer and feed. The motel is owned by a bike rider who may be able to help with pricing and is within walking distance to most pubs.
    Any thoughts?

    I could be up for a ride up that way to finally meet some of you Northerners. Maybe on the KLR650 over that distance though!

    Just had a look and take back my previous comment tenterfield is only 3.5 hours from me so I should still be able to walk haha, @TechHeadFred on the other hand........

    Thanks or the responses. I will be travelling through Tenterfield in December so will check a few things then, but have been told about the Royal Hotel/Motel http://www.royalhotelmoteltenterfield.com.au/ which has hotel rooms for $30.00, motel rooms for $70.00. Under cover parking and they serve breakfast as well. What do you think? Any preference for a date?

    Note; I titled this Get together North, as we may be able to organise another get together down South for the Victorians and southern NSW members. Any suggestions?

    Good suggestion @Murdo - probably worth organising something down this way too!

    I'd like to meet the Brisbanites (Brisvegans?) either way though and this is as good an excuse as any for another road trip.

    Have been for a little ride to Tenterfield and checked out the Royal Hotel. It is not the flashest place, but my room was clean, comfy and cheap at $30.00. They also have motel style rooms for $70.00 that will sleep two. Chatted to the publican and he would be happy to have us there for drinks, a feed (kitchen being renovated at moment but will be ready in January) and a sleep. He said he would even get the cook in to cook us a hot breakfast if we wanted (minimum 12 required).
    Any thoughts on best time for this to happen?
