Ok so steele soap pad where do you get them from? What is scrubbing in? And who is Mark Marquez? Lol. Also, new seals fot the caliper piston? Do i need a rebuild kit?
Just get some cheap soap pads from coles ...in the washing up section Scrubbing in the tyres just means to take it easy for awhile while riding till the slippery coating left on them from the tyre making process is worn off .... otherwise u will end up on your arse. The seals may be ok ...just a build up of gunk may be stopping the pistons moving correctly ..... but a rebuild would be the ultimate fix This is MM ... current MotoGP champion
i'd nearly consider a new front dics to marry to the new pads..... i'd really be looking hard at your front disc for hairline cracks, pitting and heavey wear, check and see what thickness is left on that disc.
There is a place on this forum where you can see the common items we sell: http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/items-now-available-from-andys-bike-bits.3570/ As there is a very large range of filters, brake pads, batteries, chains & sprockets for a large range of bikes, I have started with the 250s of interest on this forum.... And am in the process of building a web site. In the meantime, check on the above link as items are being added every week... Just message me on the bike of interest, and I will respond with a list of what's available for your bike... Cheers, Andy
oh geez! thanks for reminding me! on a side note, alot of crap came off the surface of those, like heaps!
get a ruler and see how much "meat" is left, look for crack coming from the vent holes, imperfections, like deep pitting marks.
Update!: The news is bitter sweet... The disks were pretty good and new pads will make the breaks Really good! They are not bad now. We got the wheels on, the cbr250rr mirrors fitted perfectly! Got the rest of the fairings on and fixed up aome more wireing. Fired her up and went for a quick ride. She revs right through to 18,000 but plateaus at about 16000. 14500 is the sweet spot So me and my workmate went for a quick ride to the coast (just a couple of blocks) and man! i cant tell you the satisfaction of riding her. The bitter part: The PO, (workmates mate) has caught wind that purple rain is now going, and has decided to change his mind it seems, and wants to get the bike back. I dont know if what got said originally to my workmate got lost in translation, but apparently the PO had said he wanted to work with my mate to get the bike fixed so they could sell it and split the profit, but keep in mind this has been told to me by my workmate missus, she said they would reimburse me for the money i have spent on the bike. A bit of a kick in the teeth i think and a bit convenient that this happens when the bike is ready to get inspected and registered. BUT OH WELL... So new plan. If they reimburse me then i still want a bike, have never had a bike and now i am well and truely balls deep in bikes and stuff lol. So i will bee looking at a gsx250, gsxr250, fzr250, cbr250rr, or zxr250. I really really like the look of the CBR250rr mc22 with the round lights. Been looking in gummers for cbrs, but if anyone has any leads for one of these bikes in WA, let me know! I want a bike to work on and ride
what an arse. mate, i'm happy to help, i'll have a look and see what i can find you. how much does he want for the bike or did you ask?
