After roughly 450 kms my baby went bang . 1987 rg250ch. pulled the plug left cylinder leaned out, siezed. Started tear down, crank started to turn, piston did not move . Saw the rod through exhaust port , no longer attatched to piston. Removed engine did complete tear down , complete piston skirt in pieces in bottom of case. Big end rod bearing half missing ( crank pin looks ok ) rod bent. Cylinders not to beat up, on first over size right now, probabably clean up @ 1.5mm over. Can not get parts localy ,maybe bearings when crank apart . any one know of a good running 1987 engine (with exhaust valve )for sale ? Will the Cylinders and Head from my 87 go on to an earlier non exhaust valve engine are they the same except for cylinder and head ? Found a complete engine for sale, says its an 89 but no exhaust valve.Cheaper to do that than get my crank rebuilt. Looking @ $550-$600 in parts before shipping plus about $200 labour for crank plus pistons and rings and cylinder boring. any help or info appreciated Thanks Dave
