    G'day from Perth, Australia.

Having returned to riding 2 years ago after a lengthy break, with a VTR250 (since sold), I've just picked up a Yamaha Zeal.

The VTR250 needed a new ignition to get it up and running after I bought it. That was pretty easy to do and was a great bike but I needed another project.

The Zeal needs a bit more work (some already done) to be roadworthy and ready for inspection to license.

This seems like the place to get a bit of help, guidance and inspiration with the work needed.

    Welcome,

The Zeal is not a bad bike, and do not suffer from carb wear issues as the FZR250's do.

I owned both and was quite happy with them.

Well timed question there 2valve. Had to find a couple of pics and work out how to load them.
The bike was in reasonable condition when I bought it, but had sat for a while.

    Hi Mate
Look's pretty nice and it look's like it's all there. You'd be amazed how well it would look after a good detail.

Is there any history of the bike , especially being parked for a while ?.

There is also a workshop manual on the forum , but you need to be a premium member to download it.

I decided to start a new post in the Projects section to give a bit more detail about the bike and it's condition.
Don't know much about it at all. It came up on Gumtree for free and I couldn't get there so didn't try. The guy that did listed it a week later and the $350 he wanted was still a good price for the bike.
I put before and after pics of the exhaust once I'd given them the once over and you can see what a difference it made

Ok , found the other post , good picture's.
Give our resident wrecker's a ring , he may be able to help. He has this one listed , 1997 Yamaha FZX250 Zeal on his web site. But not sure what is left OR if it's long gone.

Welcome, lots of experienced people on this forum to help out. $350 is a good price - how many kms on the clock?
    Cheers
