New member and SRX250F owner ,I had/have more than 20 bikes but that's something alse ! I would like to ask 2 things to anyone who knows: 1) What's the differences with the XT250T ,only more aggressive camshafts or there is more ? & 2) How many mpg do you get (urban/extra-urban/combined) ?
Welcome to the forum. The biggest difference between the XT250T and the SRX250 is that the SRX250 is electric start and XT250T is kick start. The 2x bike's in Australia both had the same camshaft's I will have to get back to you will the Km / L i get from my XT250T, it's recorded here somewhere
good to see another SRX250 on here... as @my67xr mentioned there are very few differences other than kick start and charging system... there was a model of XT250T in the USA only (I think) that had slightly hotter camshafts but they are quite rare. I have a set in the SRX I am building now but that has been taken out to 350 and it is a slow project...lol As for fuel consumption... hmm there are a couple of other SRX owners in here who may be able to give you a better idea. Problem is most owners here dont use them all the time so fuel consumption probably isnt all that relevant to them.
to the forum.Another SRX250 owner here. Cant help with real life fuel economy figures as i'm still running in my engine. But , via the road test magazine i have , there quoting: Range per tank 230-250 Kilometer's ( Approx 155 Miles). As usual it depend's how well the bike run's and how heavy / big you are though.
I found i have gotten around 270km's on 9 Litre's of fuel with my XT250 so 30 km/Litre Gearing would be different to the SRX250, and probably rim size, tyre diameter's too
Welcome! Nice SRX you have there, I get around 5L/100km on mine (spirited riding) haven't done an urban test yet. It could do with a carb rebuild and rings, 80k on the clock
Thank you for the replies ! I consumed around 4,5 l/100km extra urban driving as economical as I could, constantly at 70km/h in 6th gear, I was expecting lower consumption smthing like 3,5 l/km but it's ok, I wont use it everyday so... About the engines I am pensive because must be smthing different for this output of 32ps instead of xt's 27ps. Probably the higher compression... Anyway, it doesn't matter I was just curious if you knew... I have plans to restore the bike in the next few months, I 'll keep you informed. Thank you again !
There is nothing at all different in the engines other than possibly Carburettor Jetting or ignition timing (set by the igniter) The compression is identical as the complete primary parts (crank, conrod, piston, cylinder head, cams, valves etc) are all identical on the majority of models. One specific model of XT came with slightly hotter cams... I can find the specs somewhere in my thread... I wouldnt go too much on the "stated" power figures of the 2 engines. If anything I would have expected the XT to have more power and be a bit more aggressive than the SRX.
