So I had my NSR hooked up to a battery out of a quad bike with aligator clips as an extension and for some reason the alligator clip wires burnt out/melted. Anyway, I got a battery that will fit and hooked it up and also replaced the R/R with a brand new genuine Honda unit (I don't trust the old ones). And I chuck the spare 20 Amp main fuse in and... gone. So my next step when I get more fuses (tonight) is to unplug most of the connections (namely the PGM for safety reasons) and test it, followed by inspection of the wiring harness. The bike has been on the rear stand for months, so I don't think a wire has been rubbed on anything but will check anyway.

Any NSR experts have any other ideas? I'm just hoping the PGM is still safe and good but I also hope this isn't the start of electrical problems for my bike.

If it has not been moved for a while check for mice chewing the wires. Insulation is made with vegetable oil and the little shits just love it. They would also be coming indoors due to the cold/wet weather.

Don't worry, got some fuses and checked the switch I use for the ignition and one of the connectors was shorting to the frame. All good!

Itll be the engine, sounds no good to me. I think you should take it out and dispose of it as soon as you can.....better still send it to me.( I need a MC21 motor)

I have no MC21 motors for sale, but how about MC18?? (I have 3 of those unwanted). What happened to yours? Just want a spare for yourself?

Aquired a 21 complete with no motor, I think it went into a Kart. I just need motor and its complete.....but also thinking of using said 21 to be the donor for parts to construct my NS 500 ie wheels, front end, calipers etc.

    Briz.
