Have you checked the coolant level? Thermostat working? Is the radiator fan coming on? Oil level a little low? A peice of paper stuck in the front of the radiator? All are things that can make it run hot and all are easily checked.

my old fizzer was like that especially in summer even with the fan on. as long as it doesn't go into the red zone u should be ok. i found my temp peaked at 90km/h, i guess ram air started to take effect then
you can try flushing the radiator by disconnecting it at both ends then sticking a hose in and pumping water through it before reconnecting and refilling with fresh coolant.
does the temp go down when ur cruising at high speeds and there's plenty of airflow across the radiator?

My old fzr used to have the fan kick in millimeters away from the red zone. While my bike constantly had the temp guage up in the upper portion, it never made it just that little bit farther to the red zone.

But I would also check the coolant just to make sure it looks nice and green.

As a question - is your stalling the riding or the bike? I don't mean this in any offence, I just know that when I was first riding the bike stalled frequently (turned out it was a combination of me, and ill-tuned exup valve). So if it is not you, then we may be able to help out a bit with that too. Chances are someone here has either experienced or knows about any problems you may have.

just re-read this part - it idles at 4000? That should be around 2-2500 (I know the tach doesn't go that low, so a bit of estimation is required).

yep mine runs hot during summer or hot weather.
winter max i saw was halfway in heavy traffic.
during summer is usually 3/4 way but neva goes to the red..mayb a lil near there.
the fan would kick in at bout halfway but the switch for is stuffed so i just got it wired on..lol

as for idling at 4000, thats a bit high. have u tried adjusting it lower? if its a 2kr the knob is sorta oppposite the fuel pump. for the 3ln its on the outside just unde the rhs of the seat. hope that makes sense.

2 headlights can mean it is either a 2kr or 3ln. does it have a thick frame? If it is a 2kr it has thin (2cm) thick frame all round. The 3ln has a thick (10cm) 'deltabox' design.

Or - to use the 'idle screw method' garfield mentioned - is the idle screw easy to get to (under the right hand side of seat) or is it in the middle of the engine?

well the idle screw is under the engine,i fixed it already im not 2 sure about the frame coz ive never really taken much notice plus i didnt know there was a difference. had first experience in the rain and loved it(im not normal)many of my mates reckon that its the worst time to ride, ill probably learn 2 hate it later on hopefully not itll take the fun out of riding.

Good to hear you enjoy riding in the rain. I must say I don't mind it, but if only I could keep dry since most of me gear is leather/summer gear.

Riding in the rain is better than not riding at all! For me it makes me think more about my riding because you do have to be more careful as you can not be as quick on the controls. It is great to remind you about all the little things that you may take for granted in the dry. As long as you ride for the weather all is good.
