hey Can some one guide me on how to remove the front and rear wheel on a zx2r If there is a pinned area for it already can you send me link please Need to know what tools I need ( if I have them or not lol ) Thanks in advance
First step - front and rear stands for the bike. The rear takes 12mm swingarm spools. For the front, try a steering stem stand, You need to get enough height off the ground so you don't have to take the front guard off - the bolts are on the inside and can't be accessed if the wheel is out... bit of a pain if you can't get the wheel out. Tools. 6mm Allen key sockets for the pinch bolts 14mm Allen key for the front axle 12mm socket for the front caliper bolts. 24 or 27mm socket for the rear axle. 10/12mm spanners for the chain adjusters New split pin for the rear axle nut Torque specs Front Axle 110NM Front calipers 28NM Front pinch bolts 20NM Rear axle 88NM + tighten to get the split pin in. Chain adjusters hand tight. You will need a torque wrench for the tightening procedures. All going off memory so forgive any errors.
Use a jack under the sump & the bikes sidestand to raise the front wheel if you only have the the 1 stand, & crack your front axle pinch bolts & axle bolt while the wheel is on the ground & not up on the stand if you value your forks.
As well as the chain adjusters tensioning your chain they also align your rear wheel so look out for the markers on the swingarm
You don't have to touch the chain tensioners, undo your axle and the stay blocks come out, you'll get enough movement to remove the chain. If you lack a paddock stand and resort to a jack, use a plank of wood under the kickstand so you can get more height, and use a screw jack, NOT HYDRAULIC.
If you don't have a stand then two tie-down straps on handlebars to a roof beam will get the wheel off the ground.
