Thought it’s about time i signed up. Have always enjoyed coming and reading on this site. I currently have a 1991 kawasaki zxr250, 1997 kawasaki Zx9r and a devil of a fzr250 2kr. Been on it non stop today. Pulling the head off to try and diagnose the thing

Hello Mr Martini [shaken not stirred?]

Nice bikes, you've got two other very well informed forum members that live in the land of the long white cloud that have 'some' experience with the FZR250 - @gregt @Mike Green

Really like the styling on that ZX9r - it comes from a golden era of styling

    Well of course ruckusman

and hey that’s great! Might need it soon to be honest. This fizzer has been fighting back. And i have to agree. They knew how design gorgeous bikes back in the day. Although in 98 they dropped 30 odd kilos so that can’t be all bad heh

what kind of machines are you riding?

We've got pretty much every FZR250 issue solved here - they can be vexatious 3LN1/3/5, although the 2KR doesn't suffer the worn emulsion tube in the carburetor that plagues the 3LN1/3/5 AFAIK

Mike Green has a turbo half FZR250 and he's delved into the valve train quite extensively of late
    https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/fuel-injected-turbo-fzr250-half.10957/

Gregt has an overbored half that's almost 160cc for a bucket racing class
    https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/fzr150-bucket-race-motor.8949/

As for any issues you've got with your 2KR - fire away with the questions, there's some good problem solving freely available

I've got an FZR250 3LN1 about completed for front end conversion, ZX6R forks, it's already got an R6 shock, then it becomes a rolling test bed for other devious experiments

98 -> 03 R1's and R6's looked pretty fine, Kawasaki ZXR's through to about 2006ish kept smooth curves which appeal to the eye also

That’s absolutely fantastic. Certainly a clued up bunch of people! If i can contrabute in any way I will

saw the half fzr250s and I’m no joke in awe. Things are incredible.

your fzr sounds quiet the project. Some high end bits in there. Sounds like it'll be a weapon around the track too
Will be interested to see how it turns out!

If i were to ask a question about the 2kr. Do i just go on the problem section of the forum?

Some work to do yet, front end almost finished, engine and carb work to come once it's running

Yes, put your questions in a new thread in the Yamaha 4 cylinder forum that way it's in the right place to begin with, once it's posted it will appear front centre on the home page
