Yeah the warmer weather is coming, it got to 34 here today and will be 36 tomorrow.
I'm surprised no one has a spare fork leg or bottom though.

Edit, took too long to post my reply, lol

You should be able to remove the grub screw which locks the fork let onto the bottom of the chrome slider, give it some love with a heat gun and make a good one from two

So for those playing at home .... the bottom stanchion as pictured above cracked as I was the torquing the outside pinch bolt ..... now before u get your expertise /experience panties in a knot , with 'old' bikes I use the factory torque settings minus some Nm due to age , previous overtightening etc etc , and the usual experience dealing with such matters , and having used that method on many FZRs and the like I would conclude that it was ****** ... especially if u look with a trained eye u will see that corner of the stanchion is damaged from most likely a
wack on a gutter or similar

So the moral of the story is its probably better to have a fork leg fail in the workshop than at the blistering speed I would have obtained on the drag strip this weekend

And on a side note ... if u have a right side ZXR250C fork leg in 100% good condition and willing to post , ship , strap on a camel , hand deliver to the chief , big cheese , boss of the wash .... just let me know .. not in a rush  :thumb_ups:

OK so late night typing with me not making complete sense it seems

@TonyZXR has a good fork bottom but damaged chrome, which may help you out - the bottom of the fork is a screw thread onto the chrome tube slider - there is a grub screw preventing it from unscrewing - you'll likely also find loctite on the threads thus the need for a heat gun to soften it

So you can take your good chrome slider and broken bottom, separate them, do the same for Tony's good lower and put the two good bits together and voila - a good working fork leg

I agree with @ruckusman, it shouldn't be to hard to swap them over, just need to have your front end up in the air and wheel off
Have you got anywhere to hang some strap's/rope's from ?

Totally agree with you two. If @TonyZXR has a ZXR250C RHS fork leg with a good stanchion with a stuffed tube, then that will be the best solution. No need to replace both forks. @Murdo & I just discussing What’s needed to take the stanchion off & should be okay. Bike will have to make it’s drag debut in 2020. Too much to do before the weekend. Also MIA is the hose from the back of the head to the radiator inlet...anyone have one?

I'd have a hose, but I'd you're rebuilding the bike to this extent, @maelstrom has new silicon hoses, right?

Nope. ZXR hose kits are on the backburner for the moment.

    Thanx @TonyZXR

Ill discuss that fork leg with u next week after I check to see if theres anything else thats 'missing' ... It was all in boxes and we are obviously close to having it finished enough but theres always the last bits that might have gone walkabout

That hose may have been mixed in with the many FZR hoses and zillion boxes of spares in the shed of no return .. Ill send out a search party in due course

Mr @maelstrom ... did u end up seeing if u still had this hose ? .... thought I would check first to save me pulling the spares dept here apart to search for it :D

    hose.png

    @Frankster , @kiffsta .... I need a set of COPs to suit the ZXR ..... Denso 129700-5430 ?
    ... or wateva suits :idk:

Also are these that Craig posted awhile back , still the go and universal as I will eventually set up the FZR also (I have 4 Denso 129700-4840 for that)

I have put my ZXR hose box somewhere safe, always a dangerous proposition. I will have a scout for it on the weekend.

If you get stuck for the hose, I should have a spare one or 3.
