Ah yes. I have had that problem my self in the past. I still have my half built R6 sitting there I don't know weather to part out, sell whole or rebuild it

Something I picked up locally and cheap awhile back.... sadly its slighly too small to fit on the ZXR pipe .... was advertised for a CBR but took a punt. :commando:

What's the mm diameter of the headers? You. Could always cut the over seized pipe off at the screw plate. Get the 55mm pipe and weld it on the screw plate with a TIG welder. That way the weld stays small enough so you get a flush finish. Other option is that you get mc 22 headers cut and weld to the Zxr headers. Many different ways to get around it.

Cheers mate ...bike building is a little off the rader at present but now my mate (grasshopper) got his Ls on the weekend Ill have to get back into it to get his FZR roadworthy and also resume on the ZXR

Lots to do, but hopefully Ill end up with a black beast with a touch of red and the usual chrome to set it off .

Yea when I get the headers off Ill look at it with a bit more thought .... as u say , a few choices .....with the easiest and cheapest always the best option ...!

I also have tried this, I machined out the ID to suit, but the bolt pcd was slightly out, ended up making up adapter plate and tig welded the inner and outer edge worked a treat! but yes grinding it out will not be enough..

No peno either. So perfect for exhausts. He did start to get the hang of fuse welds tho.

Sweet! I've been AWOL for a few months and a bit slow on the uptake... Any chance you're replacing the discs and wanting to get rid of one second hand front one? :D

    Hey Tim,

I'm considering getting an R6 - I like the styling of the 99-02's but have come across enough reports of the delaminating cylinder sleeves to have me worried about that happening.

Any other gotcha's to keep an eye out for?

Sorry for the off topic fellas...

    peace out

My R6 never missed a beat in the 2 and a half years it was on the road. But once they sit for to long they need to be balance and tubed again.

Brushed the cobwebs of it today ..... made a start from the rear ...... knocked out the bearings and ready for some spit and polish but sadly found a ding in the rim.
Its holding air ok but what can be done about it ... if anything?

Get another one or a wheel shop can straighten that, on a side note those tires look pretty cracked on the sidewall
