I thought you might want a rest Grey, not go punish yourself with more carbs.
Nah ... these are Keihins ... like kissing a new girlfriend
And I have the Litetek green dream ready to go
ooops, I have a ZXR250 set of carbs which are dodgy, good for parts
.... yea may need some spares by the time I pull them right down
Are the needles prone to wear on these ?
A little, but nowhere as bad as the fzr's
That first carb the needle was lumpy but it was just a build up of junk I think ..... Ill look at it closer after it gets the ultrasonic boom
Mr Grey will transform them in no time. He has a thing for carbs
I have plenty of carb spares too.
Am I seeing things or are those headers tapered?
Re the tapered headers, I was just too lazy to do it that (correct) way. I might have to do that version for a side to side comparison, if and when I get my bike together. The ZXR sounded good the last time Grey started it, so this project has light at the end of the tunnel.
Like a brand new carby body. I'll get you to do my sets. Will pay in beer or be your bike shed gopher
I have waited for a few response of our friend Grey's shift to the dark side???? To me this is a positive step into enlightenment and as Blair put it......light at the end of the tunnel Feel certain those carbs will be sorted promptly and the engine will be purring away nicely
Having played with the ZXR's over the years, I've come to like them a lot. They come equipped with some good gear(forks) and the cool pool vac hoses..... gotta love those Will be watching this thread closely....good luck Grey or should I say "KwakaGrey"
Is there no stopping this man, looks awesome mate
Gotta love these carbs Phil .... so much simpler than those bloody Mikunis
Yeah, this has been a blessing.... turn adversity into positive action!!
Sure do, the MC22 has them as well and they are awesome. Having said that my Bandit has the same carbs as your FZR and they are performing OK so far.
Just a suggestion Mr Grey. Spray the engine with WD40, it will soak in while you are doing other things and help to shift all the corrosion and grime.
