    Another $500 dunger rescued.

Question is, what to do with it?

Runs well enough, rest of the bike has issues. Fuel tank rusted, forks gone, will need brakes, tyres, chain and sprockets, a service, mirrors, complete headlight and anything else I find.

My original plan was to strip it for the engine and carbs, now I'm not so sure...

It's a really fine starting point for the cafe racer styling conversions that people are fond of doing.

Biggest difference engine wise is the cams - I've got some Zeal cams packed away somewhere, and in comparison to 3LN1 cams, well there is no comparison, pointy egg shaped Zeal cams versus rounded egg shape 3LN1 cams - the lift/area difference en route to full lift is enormous.

One day when I have both 3LN6 and 3YX engines apart I must inspect the cams and check lift, duration etc, it has been said for the longest time that they are the same or similar, but has anyone every actually compared them together? I doubt it.

I've got 3YX zeal cams that I can photograph for you easily enough, I've also got 3LN1 cams to photograph for comparison.

For the longest time I've wanted to do a 5 degree increment, full measurement of the lift and duration of the cams and chart and graph them.
