    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_FZR250

Wikipedia is rather anemic on information. In 1993 Japan introduced new laws limiting learner bikes to 32kw or 40ps. I believe the FZR's got a reduced redline out of the deal :(

This is a good resource: http://fzr250.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3080

It appears 3LN5 is the latest you want to go and still get 45 horses.

Based on the twin headlights I have a 3LN1 which lines up with what the RMS say about it (88-91 model)
However it also has the adjustable front brake lever which first appears on 3LN3 & 3LN5
The exhaust also says 3LN3 on it. Who knows what it really is.

I posted the VIN earlier if anyone is familiar with them

After 25 years of POs nothing means anything except matching numbers frame and engine

    Your frame number is 3LN-340373

when refering to this then you have a 3LN6 frame/bike ..... just need to check the motor to see if its the original

    http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/yamaha-fzr250-model-information.230/

40 hp or 45 hp ..... your testicles will still tingle when u take it up to redline

They redline at 18.5 .... and if they even get to that then it means u have spent half your life rebuilding and tuning it :neo:

that's where our resource was pinched from .... that's Dave ... he is the one who caretakes the old FZR250 forum

I think that pic has all the wrong colours on the bodywork for a 6 or 7.
    Should be more like
    [IMG]

The 3LN6 & 7 (very rare beasties) have different carbs. Like the Zeal, they have an upper slide housing seal. It is part number 41 on this page http://litetek.co/Guide_FZR250Parts.html

I have not been able to complete these kits because I would need help from an owner to do it and no one ever responded to my emails and posts on other forums.
    cheers
    Blair

The original fairings are not the yellow ones. They're off something newer.

Mr. Grey, what's the engine serial? We neglected to look

Ill pull off the tank t/m to get at the engine number

That will tell us more and don't worry Mr Green I will bench the carbs to see what they are and if they need to go green .... or are needed to further develop the Litetek range

    :D

Thanks Mr Grey. The unfinished page can be seen here. I only need two parts to complete it. I will probably never sell enough 6/7 kits to justify it but I get support from the community and it is a form of advertising for me, so all good.

@maelstrom Mr Green, that picture actually does resemble the original fairings on the bike, although it's a black and blue design... maybe it really is a 3LN6....

    And also the purple wheels....

Maybe we should try and keep the original 3LN6 styling since they're fairly rare....??? @Linkin
