If you get real stuck I could possibly make one from brass.

That sounds like a great idea for future replacements... I'm not sure why they made it from plastic to begin with.

Why not use a fuel resistant epoxy of some sort to glue it back together?

Don't know if it's possible but...

Its beyond repair .... the first section was already snapped off and we had modified it to get the hose further on ..... so it must be brittle from age. ..... and the fact that the carbys have been on and off a zillion times wouldn't help.
Might be time for a new soft fuel hose there also as that is an original.

Arrow is pointing to the bolt that needs to be undone (along with the main rod that holds the 2 sets of carbs together, not pictured) and circled is the little spring you want to make sure not to lose.

Broken fuel inlet vs. spare one

    Crusty old fuel seals

Shiny new Litetek ones. I knew I bought a couple of full sets for a reason!

So... to replace that little blighter is just 2 bolts and a spring. Carbs 1&2 separate from 3&4 and pull apart. No messing with the sync screws or balancing. That's a +1 to the Japanese engineers who made these things, at least.

Bike is back together and running happily. Just in time for Bunnings tomorrow, if the weather permits.

That's a long way, too far for me, I'd never make it home.
I'd be there if I lived at Mudgee or Merriwa

Well that was a quick fix. The Fizzer factory members are getting a lot of product knowledge on these bikes.

Yes, pity the back of them is so ugly. But I have two choices, made in NBR they look pretty and turn to bricks when exposed to Ethanol blends, or Viton and the back of the seal looks crappy. I chose the latter. :)

Doesn't really matter as once installed you don't see them. Long live Viton :thumb_ups:

I decided to tweak the idle screws again, the fact that the 3LN6 starts so easily motivated me. I tweaked the screws outward a little until I heard the spring moving. Maybe 1/8th of a turn on each. Put choke on and started first go. Previously had to hold it for a bit and give a little throttle.

Tried without any choke, 0.5 sec on the button, starts and doesn't stall.

    Another win :dance2:

Hi, sorry for possibly stupid question, but how do you top up it? Asking, because having been maintaining Honda CBR 600RR, and it's simple as you top up the rad itself, while on FZR 250R there's a tube going down to the rad. Is it topping up to the top edge of this tube, up to the cup?
    Thanks,
