I hope the fuel tap can supply enough fuel, most of those pitbike tap's have a 2.5mm to 3mm bore

Part arrived today. Ordered from Peter Stevens Dandenong (10km down the road, but closed due to Virus). Even my wife had a laugh when she saw who I bought it from on the packaging!

Looking good Chief. The tank won't hit you in the nads will it? Are you making a fibreglass tank to go over the top of it?

With my powerful drag bikes they will only be travelling inertially backwards :D

Just experimental stuff .... Im trying to clear out the backroom to get the other FZR in there to get more 'road going' junk off it and try some unconventional things yada yada yada , as I cant see my proper workshop seeing the light any time soon under the present turmoil
I have to get into metal fabrication to make brackets and watnot

That tank wouldn't weigh much so you'd save 4-5kg by replacing the metal tank. I'm going to put the Lucky Strike Drag bike on a diet to shave off a few kg. Starting with the front end. No need for 2 rotors, so going to go to one and then moving to the rest of the bike to see where I can save weight. Fuel tank is definitely a "heavy" item. The 5L Alloy tank Murdo made for me (Salt Bike) weighs eff all, so I'm keen to use it and a tank skin over it.

I fail to see what has changed. Express post has been less than express for quite some time.
You would think that AusPost would see that all this extra freight is an opportunity for them.

Yep, i understand their business model has changed quickly, and they have a fairly big patch to service but it’s just happened again to me.. they sent me a message, TODAY! that my “package is coming today” it’s now 6 pm!! It’s not coming today.. I wasn’t even expecting it today!! Why make these ridiculous claims that set up expectations amongst customers, that the customer isn’t even imagining, and then fail to deliver.. now they are just taking the urine:)

They also have to limit the number of staff on site at a given time, so the deliverers are staggered starts, but their sorting room would probably be quite affected. And if you get behind, it can be easy for someone to put the new stuff in front of the older stuff, so person A got theirs quick, while person B has their stuff at the back and gets sorted last, goes on the next truck and so on. I've glanced at the mail depot in Rocky, it is a scary big task!

Yep, no doubt there are genuine issues. Obviously anything from overseas is literally “on a slow boat from China” as the planes have all but stopped. My point is that if tracking systems are as useless as they appear to be why not just turn them off. A recent express delivery from the USA took 6 weeks.. USPS told me the package was in Sydney after 10 days. Investigations unearthed that USPS use a fantastic system called”predictive tracking” . This system notifies the receiver of where their parcel “should be” with absolutely no consideration of where it actually is. Aus posts tracking told me my package was”coming today” days before it was due to arrive! And of course it didn’t. Any organisation generating this type of negative publicity , accidentally , really needs to ace it up. It’s simply bad business practice and someone is asleep at the wheel.

The system has become somewhat unwieldy over time and then adding eBay direct shipments through Aust Post into the mix it becomes even worse.
I have a shipment where the eBay tracking info was lodged but it looks like the sender hasnt actually taken the item to the Post Office for several days.. so 3 days after the tracking number is lodged with Aust Post though eBay it is finally scanned at Northgate Qld.
Then you have the issue with signatures.. I have an Authority to leave on my Aust Post app.. but if the sender doesnt have that option they wont leave it without a signature... is it annoying... you bet it is but what else can you do.
Lucky that there is almost always somebody here and there is always a car in the driveway... plus I have a "Ring" video doorbell and I can generally talk to the driver and ask them to leave it for me.
