Well there's been a fair bit of interest in a ride so i thought i'd get around to posting it up. The aim is to head out for a nice full day's worth of riding on either Saturday or Sunday; to be confirmed. So here's how it's going to work... if your interested then pick a day and pick a route from the ones below. Then we'll try and work it with everyone and get something happening.
At the moment i'm leaning towards a Sunday ride most likely for another 'Way Out East' Gippsland effort. It was a nice run last time and we've found some new roads since then.

- Way Out East v2 (Korumburra, Leongatha, Poowong, and maybe up through the Noojee State Forest)
- Spurs Loop (King Lake, Chum Creek, Healesville, Black Spur, maybe Reefton)
- GOR (probably a little too touristy with the nice weather... but still an option)
- Other (any suggestions?)

The meeting point will be determined from the ride route and confirmed later on this week (probably Friday). This is an open for all ages/capacities ride although i'd encourage at least a moderate grasp of hills/twisty riding in order to not exhaust yourself.

Yeah, it's a nice run it just seems like im up there every weekend! I kinda like heading out away from the traffic, the people, the other riders, and especially the heavy police presence that's always around the spurs on weekends. BUT if the majority says spurs i'll do it.

... and i'd LOVE to jump over to your side of the pond for a weekends riding but i think of got more chance of winning lotto at the moment. That said if i DO win lotto i'll be there!

LOL, well actually... i was talking to the rider formally known as SOBIL and he's actually resurrected the FZR-fighter and might be coming along.

I can't take pics as the missus took my little P&S O.S and i've only got my DLSR with me! Hopefully someone else will have a camera otherwise it's mobile-phone-camera or nothing.

way out east, I says.
GOR and spurs are mobbed on the weekends. I suck at the spurs anyway (in fact the more track days i do, the slower i seem to get on the road).
I'm pushing strings and pulling buttons to get saturday free, so i'll be there if things fall into place.

So the masses say Saturday... and my common sense is saying Saturday, so i'm thinking Saturday it shall be. As for the route, the Way Out East looks like its a goer but after talking with one of my mates (some may remember him as Tenoq on the ZX9R) we might be heading even further Way Out East than last time. We're gonna do a bit more planning though before releasing the final route.

At the moment it'll be a 9am meet from either Cranbourne or Rowville - yet to be decided due to the unfinalised route.

I voted spur loops....

BUT

i would be thinking start in greensborough, then to kinglake, myers creek, black, reefton, launching place, noojee, warragul, korrumburra, poowong, drouin, pakenham, gembrook, belgrave, across the dongdydongs, thruough to lilydale up through warrandyte, back through christmas hills, up to yea, back through kinglake west, down to whitlesea, through town to the yarra bulavard, onto the freeway under the tunnel over the bolte, u turn and back onto the westgate and into stkilda for coffee.

sounds like a good afternoons ride to me.

should be good at this stage.

cheers SOBIL

ps. The fzr lives to die another day.....

Well it was a little wet but none the less we rode on through the sleet and fog to be greeted with some sunshine and dry enjoyable roads for the last... oooh, about 2 minutes. In the end it ended up as myself, SOBIL and my housemate.

I'm thinking i might do a mid-week Spurs ride if anyone's interested... perhaps Thursday?
