I know the weather in Melbourne is ****..and nobody has ever met on a ride before...but I was just wondering if anyone that lives in Melbourne has Thursdays off. I work all weekend so unfortunetly, thursdays is the one day a week that I can ride .

You guys should definately go for a ride, was good with the sydney guys.. every1 was riding at their pace... or was it Rossi's pace?
wish I could make thrusdays, but weekends are the only time available for extended rides... and even those are usually unavailable. :-(
Soory garfield the post hasn't been updating on my comp for some reason, didn't realise u wrote back...Yeah if u could get some more mates that would be sick. Remember I just got my L's like 2 weeks ago lol. Unis pretty busy at, got like 2 mid semester tests comin up in the next week or so...I have a week week break but, so I can go then for sure....Ill keep u posted though...maybe next thursday might be alright depending on how much I can get on top of the work . But regardless, 23rd os sept I reckon we should organise a ride. Boz, Dean said something about u being a lecturer at RMIT?? If so..ud have that time off as well wouldn't u?
Lecturer at La Trobe actually. And no time off - academics lead full lives!!! With marking, preparation of lectures, research, plus committee meetings my weeks tend to drag into my weekends. Then add a wife, house hunting, and swimming to that mix and that is my life. I have not been on an actual organised ride in about 5 months because I have been flat out at work (I am also putting the final touches on my PhD thesis which takes up time too)
Ohh that sorta sucks...u at least get time off over christmas holidays surely??? Btw, what do u lecture? Im studying mechatronic engineering at Melbourne Uni. Garfield...do u have an msn?
sept is fine i gues... 23 is last day i think then mid break... msn.. davdang@hotmail.com are there any more melbournians??? this cant b it rite?lol dave
- Ergonomics, - general health and safety, - system requirements, design and analysis (my research area) And I do get 1.5 weeks off at christmas. But this past christmas I was working anyways because it was some of the best time to focus on my phd.
Ok cool...ive added you. For anyone else, my msn is grenda1@hotmail.com. Surely there are more than 3 melbourne riders :s. I seen an L plater honda cbr 250 at uni yesterday, I was tempted to leave a note on his bike and seeing if he was interested riding..lol. But then I thought maybe thats a bit corny. Id be stoked if someone did that when i parked my bike though. Also: I had a look back in old posts and found another 4 melbourne riders. Not sure how many of them still use this forum at all though. robo1, DOuFINKimSEXY, kohoy and sandog.
gday boys, ive been a bit slack ont he posts but im from camberwell (eats side) as i think is DOyoufinkim sexy from doncaster. Im at monash studying...well..not a lot but im enrolled . I would be up for a ride, ive got wednesday through to the weekends when i can come along unlesswe havea stupid group meeting or something and i work for 5 hours a day on the weekends but its all good besides that. I work just 5 mins from melb uni grendal, if you need cheap 3rd party insurance il hook ya up.
oh yeah my MSN is weedges@hotmail.com . il add you guys on too. i just need to get a new battery for the fizzer and il be up n running
What insurance sandog? Cars and motorbikes or just cars? lol. Well thats cool.. I been talking to garfield..and he know a few 250 riders from uni that will probably come as well....so it looks like we will have at least 5 riders..thats reasonable for starters. Ill speak to u on msn
umm pretty much all types of insurance like home, car, bike all that ****. Can knock a few bucks off. usually for third part which is wht i have you look somewhere between 80 and 200 bucks a year before i chuck my mates rates in . But if you want comprehensive, GIO is a joke, way way too expensive.
Yeah I think I rang them up for motorbike insurance, they wanted 200 for third party...and like 1400 for full comp lol.
ok....ive managed to get another fzr n cbr to come as well.... so we sjhould try and organise it now? date? meet time? meeting destination? half day ride? full day ride? where r we riding too? in the other melbourne thread, boz posted some links to a few good sites for ride routes...mayb one of these? anyway...laters.. dave
Ok, its looks like its all happenin folks. Spoke to garfield..and we have come to the conclusion thats its gonna be either thurs 9th of sept or the 16th sept, depending which day gets the most bikes..I think there should be around 6 or so 250's. We wil be meeting at point cook maccas at around 12 midday, off the princess fwy..let me know if ur having troubles finding it..and from there we r heading down the great ocean road to apollo bay, and then back again, stopping off at torquay on the way there and back... Let me know if u got any other suggestions or comments..and who can/cant come from melbourne (sorry dean )
