well the 400 is off the road, the front master cylinder was leaking and I had no brakes, so I ordered a kit from wemoto which arrived in a few days, after stripping everything and cleaning it thoroughly, I fitted the kit and Im getting 2/10 of bugger all pressure, not sure what I have done wrong, will pull it all apart again tomorrow and try again

Maybe the leak is in the hoses, banjos or the piston seals?

Did you hone/clean the bore of the cylinder?

And did you bleed out the master cylinder before fitting it?

Yes I have, and I cleaned it really well before fitting, if I put my finger over the end and pump it , there is little pressure, where other spare MC's I have here have much more pressure. I wonder because it sat for so long if there is pitting I cant see that is not allowing it to seal properly ?

As an interim , I have ordered these on ebay or there will be no Sawtell for me

well, the good news is that I now have brakes, the bad news is Chinese master cylinder and clutch perch are ****, don't buy them, they are not worth the money. What I ended up doing was using a old ZXR250 Master cylinder which is very similar to the CBR ones, made by the same company, its not perfect and I need to fashion up a bracket to secure the reservoir, but at least I have brakes now. :thumb_ups:

Have you tried to fix the original one? Maybe a flex hone and genuine Honda seals will bring it back to lif?

Have to ask, how does the NC29 compare to the NC30 that you had, and if you had a choice which one would you rather ride?

    hey Blair,

I would buy the NC29 over the NC30 any day of the week. I like the riding position and general feel of the bike. In saying that, I'm going to sell it shortly, I found an Aprilia RSV1000 that I am lusting after and its sub 10k. I figure if I offload the RGV, CBR and ZX6 then I can buy the RSV
