    Hey everybody

Sam here, mid 30's, recently broke up with the lady so I bought a bike! Work in admin throughout the week and work as a muso on the weekends.

I ride a Daelim VJF 250 with about 500k's on the clock. I've posted some pictures of it in the gallery section. Love the forum, love my 250 as you can wring it out without being at nutbar speed.
    Cheers
    Sam.

    Hi Everyone,

Another Megelli owner, red air cooler 5 speed 2010.  Had it about a year now, use it as an everyday commuter, already modified a little and boy did it make a difference.  Love it's look, but would love to have it go a little bit more, so thinking that the modification bug will be hitting soon...

    Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome and invite.  Will hopefully be changing the exhaust out and maybe a few other bits and pieces if i can make the time.  However for everyday use, and for how she runs, its a fantastic looking sports scooter for around town!!!    :D  Will definitely keep the ride in mind...

    Hi.
Names David from the Central Coast, NSW. Richard Collins, who has been making the pillgramage to Phillip Island a lot longer than my last 6 GP/SBK's, recommended I check this site out.
My main ride now is my Daytona 675 but I am currently restoring (slowly) my first bike, a 1987 Suzuki RG250 Gamma. I bought it in 1999 for my 'L's' as it was the best looking bike I could find in my price range, but it turned out to be so much fun i didn't consider upgrading for 8 years. I could keep up with most guys on the road, particularly if the way was windy! Its steering was lightning fast with that 16" front wheel!
A broken conrod, followed by the gearbox breaking a gear saw me look to move up.

My dream bike in 2000 was the Triumph TT600, so it was no great surprise to me that the 675 was perfect. In 2008 I was out looking to test ride a CBR1000 and a GSXR600 and only took the 2nd hand 675 for a ride to compare it to the Gixxer. Funnily enough, what swayed me to the Trumpy was the narrowness of the bike and the quick steering, very much like the RG. The CBR nearly tore my arms off when i opened it up on a straight out to Yaramalong! Waaaaay more power than I need or was looking for! lol

I can't make the break from the RG though, so it is apart now while I clean, repair or replace whatever it needs to look new again! I can't find any pictures of the RG from before, but it looked and will look again like the picture in my avatar.
    Cheers

    Thanks Phil,

Well so far on the bike, I have changed the rear sprocket set, jetted the carby, fitted a full system exhaust and dressed the head. I have lots more i'm going to do to the bike but that will all come in time. It's not so much that I want a fast bike that i'm doing this, it's more to show that I can turn this bike into a true competitor among the 250cc class. I've done my research and with the help of my mechanic and accumulated funds, i'm going to go a lot further with this, starting with engine performance.

I have faith in the bike and i love the fact that it's light as a feather. It performs well in it's current state and I've eliminated most of the vibrations with extra washers and padding around the fairings. I've just given it a service and cleaned the whole thing out.

I am however looking for clean near new headlights, if anybody out there has one they want to get rid of.

    Thanks for the welcome Phil.

    Hi d8oNa675

Welcome to the forum as well. You had some good advise to check it out.

You are not the only one that can't part with there 250 when they upgrade to a bigger one and there are a few regulars restoting bikes that love to swap stories.

What is even better is that there is someone new that is getting closer to me.

    Hey David
Welcome to the forum, RG250 fan, not alone in that department. Some bikes just stand the test of time. We look forward to perhaps seeing some pictures and your re: construction effort. Say Hi to Richard when you see him next.

    Hey Mista G
Good to have you on board, these Megelli's are getting very popular. I for one can understand why, they look great. Just got the computer back hence why I asked Chris to help you with the MAP. As always we look forward to hearing more about your bike and trust we might even see some pictures as well.
    Again, welcome to the Forum.

    Hello everyone !!

My name Frederic, and i'm riding a roadsport 250. Maybe the only one in my area : sought of France. In our country, this kind of cm3 is poor : every new biker prefer 600 cm3 often. Before 21 years old we are restricted to 25 kw (34 cv), after no limits.
I'm 40 years old, and i was looking for an economic bike. I hope i made a good choice... lol !

    Bye
