    Hi All.

Im currently in the process of rebuilding my NSR250 MC18 R5K after years of it being in pieces. I purchased a MC28 R3S engine with no history. The bike fires up however after checking the clutch i have removed all the clutch plates but the inner and outer baskets move together instead of freely. I can 100% confirm there isnt any clutch rings.

Has anyone any idea why this is happening as all the info i have is they should rotate. BTW its the dry clutch version,

    Thank you

Assuming you mean that they are locked together then my answer of choice would be that it has been assembled incorrectly. If it were my engine, I would assume that some numpty has been at it and completely strip it, but that's me :)

Thank you for that. Will be a great help. NSR World has helped.

I have been through the Service Manual and all the bits i have appear to match the exploded drawings for the MC28. Do they have any wear issues on the collars etc that come off the Gearbox? As in these parts below from DMR. If i loosen the main nut even slighty they rotate freely. Im suspecting as suggested its either someone has put the wrong part in or missed something or there is a wear issue maybe?
