How do i adjust my preload on rear shock to 7???? anyone got a quick link or something I can follow? Excuse my ignorance I have never done it lol.
http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/motorcycle-suspension-sag-adjustment.1134/ You need a C spanner
Is there an alternative to c spanner? I actually think there might be one in the zxr tool kit actually.
Spray some WD40 in that area .... the adjustment ring is off course spring loaded and can be stiff normally but very hard to move if its not been shifted for a long time
Hammer and a large screwdriver with the metal end you can bang-on works fine. The tip of the screwdriver does tend to eat it's way into the nuts though...
I will note I did look in the service manual but cant find the information I am looking for, so in a nut shell how do I know what it is currently set to? Or do you just bang it anti clockwise until it doesnt move any more?
Never seen a CBR but they usually have numbers stamped on them and some sort of bar or marker or arrow to show wat its on. All u are doing is compressing the spring to make it 'harder' and vice versa If your a lightweight then u may not need the hardest setting ... then again these are basic shocks and more than likely flogged out The adjustment is just for static sag .... in other words so when u sit on the bike initially the rear doesnt drop significantly
