Its amazing what we shouldn't do now.. When I was doing my apprenticeship in the Aircraft Industry I almost forever had my hands in MEK or Acetone to clean off the aluminium, we used a zinc chromate paste that looked like cocky s#*t (we called it that) to eliminate galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals and the only things to clean it up were MEK or Acetone... even in the paint shop we didnt have masks... we were given 2 litres of milk a day to help with the fumes.....I spent 12 months in the hydraulic shop using white spirits to clean everything down before rebuilds...and it was all Military stuff so some lots of Skydrol used... I even got high breathing in the fumes from a Hot MEK degreaser bath when it was all you did for a 4 week rotation... etc etc While we certainly need to be safe in what we do... I find old habits are hard to shake and I need to stop and think before dipping my hands into cleaning fluids... oils.. fuel etc. So a good reminder Mike
I never use petrol for anything other than in the tank ... cant stand the smell of it especially if it spills on your hands ... its stays forever I have just dishwashing liquid in the shed to clean my hands ..... and try to use gloves but always forget when just jumping into something ... but always when using threeebond or the Kenco HD degreaser When I was a teenager and worked in an industrial paint factory in school holidays I remember sitting in front of a 44g drum on its side with a tap and putting pure asbestos into half pint tins .... no masks , gloves or anything

Just found this, might be another option for a dash? https://www.justraceparts.com.au/auto-gauges/digital-multi-gauge
Can't wait to see what your next project is going to be, just a joke about washing hands in petrol, I have done the same for years until I starting getting Dermatitis. Worse still, during my apprenticeship years we used to blow out brake drums etc full of the dust from asbestos linings with no face masks or any protection what so ever, & now the quak's say I have interstitial Lung disease, no known cause. The Government out hear in NZ don't want to know about it.
Ive always used some car vacuum hose or if you want a bit of color RC nitro fuel hose..slit down its length, cheap as and works well
This stuff is alright for trimming edge's, and bend's easily with a little heat https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4m-Long...424603&hash=item51e342a58e:g:2J0AAOSwsN9XC1UJ Can get it in different colours too https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Screen-...hash=item33da7564c3:m:mGX6gDRvChXOljVbFEaqVSQ
