I am currently stripping the FZR to rebuild it over the winter. Finally found out why the rear was stepping out under braking, the frickin' rear brake lever doesn't spring back when its released. Can't believe it's taken me this long to figure it out

Hopefully it's because the return spring is rusted up and not the master cylinder. Noticed this shortly after buying the bike so may have been like this when I bought it

Sounds like its time for a caliper rebuild kit, or atleast a strip down-pull apart-reassemble job. Not sure what the reference to a return spring is about as there is no spring in the caliper.

I think he's referring to the spring on the brake light switch.
