I am looking for an original OEM muffler for my ZXR 250 to pass a RWC in Victoria. Seems ridiculous but they insist. Has anybody had this experience?

Doesnt surprise me... check with @kiffsta I remember he was looking at a "rental" service for just this situation but not sure if the ZXR250 would be in his arsenal... or if he actually ended up doing it.

Standard practice I would think .... Im in NSW and when I was getting the Hyosung registered ol mate said "is that a stock muffler?" .... "are u sure"? ... blah blah blah .... I kept pointing out it had "Hyosung" stamped in huge letters on it :commando:

Another time and place with an FZR250 with a non standard muffler .... he walked away and said "you put that muffler on tomorrow right?" :D

    Yep.

Victoria is pretty hot on mufflers. Some RWC guys refuse to even look at the manufacturers markings and just resort to a sound level test. If you are confident that the current muffler is quiet enough to pass the regs, take it to Dynoverks and they will do a noise test as part of the RWC. Have a chat to the guys at SixtyDegrees motorcycles. They have done my previous RWCs and I find them very reasonable to deal with.
