Saw this over in the Yamaha section, but it looks like a pretty close fit to the ZXR250 as well

    TL:DR:

12 mm longer, Clevis is 2mm wider, Eye is 1mm wider. Would requite 2x1mm spacers, 0.5mm filed off each end of the eye and you will get a 12mm ride height increase in the rear which might play silly buggers with geometry. That being said, if you are over 90ish KG and using the stock rear shock, you are probably 30mm below the proper rear ride height.

    Group buy maybe?

I think that because the length, stroke and fittings are near perfect for the FZR250 it will be a good value. However, once you get into things being as different as they are for the ZXR250 it might be better to find an alternative.

I still cant find an alternative that is available. And my 29 year old current shock is stuffed. I can get a ZXR400 one easily, but I don't think that will fit.

I’m in the same boat. Need fresher, and I weigh more.

I’m experimenting with a R6R unit- compression, rebound and preload adjustable- cheap on the eBay. Trying not to gain too much height and change rake angle. If it doesn’t work- it’ll be time to start buying the fancy stuff. Curious how this works for you, following!
