    Would have to go steel flywheel. Pumps can be run external by belt as used on top fuel drag cars.

    I scored another MC19 from a wreckers after having a few "offers" via findapart, This one turned out to be a lot more than the "bottom end" was looking for, although it is missing a sump (I'll need one one day) cam shaft caps & locating dowels/bolts (I'll need those also) & a cam cover/gasket.
    It only had one leaky inlet valve, good, although glazed bore, quite a bit of blowby, but no tell tale signs of redline abuse ie: piston crowns polished by floating valves.
    Hopefully the big end & mains are usable also.
    Anyone want unload any MC19 engine parts ?

    Busy day today. Trying to finish off the diet for the Lucky Strike drag bike. Got down to the forks and found they were a bit sad, so rebuilt them. Started rebuilding brakes too.

    Swapped an engine for a 76 Honda xl250, the guy I swapped with said this is the cheapest insurance he can get , if his bike knows there is a spare engine in the shed, his current one will never let him down. Interesting though process

    Single rotor wheel on the bike now. Looks weird having just one front brake on a ZXR.

    I found the trick for stubborn ones is to leave the brake system intact and use something to block the mobile piston(s), piece of steel, a socket, anything whilst pumping to get the stuck one(s) to move

    New tyres for the nostalgia bike. The owner of Pablo's Tyres has a Love/Hate relationship with me...he loves to hate me! Everytime I walk in there I get the "WTF do you want?" treatment. That's okay, I tell him he spells his name with a silent "P". Anyway, Rick takes the old tyres off the wheels and laughs while doing the back wheel. I thought it was because of the age of the tyre, but instead he says "I think this is why you're having wobbles" and since I'm not allowed to go near him (social distancing) he points to the bead on the rear tyre...It's not on the rim properly. I say thanks, but you can just add that to a growing list of possible suspects. So far we have old tyres, out of balance wheels, notchy headstem bearings, one stuffed rear shock, a chain with a mind of its own, a rear swingarm that needs new bushes and a broken engine mount. Rick put new tubes in there as well, so wheels/tyres can come off the list. I'm still waiting on a few bits before I put it back together for a squirt down the road.

    I've used the Irwin clamps and straps of metal through where the disc would go effective and I could make a comment about squeezing the stuck one, but will refrain as we are in polite company

    No work on the bike, but some progress on the trike. Painted the tank and forks Honda Parrot Green and they came out lovely, not bad for a tank that was heavily dented and rusted, after using an easy beat on it , it came up well and needed no filler at all.

    I started by checking the zxr 250a engine condition and ...
    a burnt valve seat is the least problem.

    Yesterday was my day to work on bikes: no uni (it can jump in a lake!) And I don't have work or other commitments. After a slow start to the morning, I got to the shed and has to decide which bike to work on: CBR 400 or KDX200? Ummed and arghed for a moment before doing the obvious: cleaning up! Seriously, there are old, replaced parts from 5+ years ago, and I mean bits of gaskets, bearings, etc. So, bike stuff went in one container, tools went in a second box, and rubbish in another, and then in THE BIN! I got one bunch mostly done and started on the floor when the phone rang. This is where my plans usually come undone.. didn't touch a bike.
