Just ordered some spares for the front forks in the SL125 via Western Motorcycles... new allen bolts, sealing washers and dust seals. All ex stock Melbourne.. cheaper than Megazip or Impex as no freight involved. Standard seals are coming via EBay
Cheers pal, it was good to get it out with all that's going on in the world at the mo..whilst you here can I be cheeky and ask your advice???? My old static (ex workshop) gas analyser has recently packed up..have you had any experience of the innovate range (LM1/LM2)..its portable and comes with software and a mate is offering it up for £150 as new boxed..just thinking about its portability as its the right size for on 'the bike' under load tweaks..and came across a set of rs34 carbs!!
Sorry, I am in the same boat. I need to do the same for my Yamaha to set the FCR's. @my67xr has an analyser and has it almost ready to go.
I picked up a good secondhand Innovate LM1 from a guy on marketplace here in Australia for $50. It came with the power cable, a couple of analog output auxilary cable's, the O2 sensor cable and 02 sensor, and a LMA2 RPM convertor It was missing the mini DB9 - RS232 serial cable to be able to set it up for my bike on my PC but i made one myself and eventually found the correct driver's for it online I also made an Inductive cable for getting the spark signal to the LM1, and plan to also set up a 5V coolant temp sensor through the LMA2 as well Also had an O2 sensor bung welded into my exhaust. It's been run and tested out on my bike, but not with all the extra's yet, look's like it was definately a worthwhile purchase There's some picture's of it here https://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/my-90-fzr250-3ln3.8776/page-22#post-124275 I'll start a new thread in the Tech Tip's area here once it's all set up on my bike and start recording and logging the data i get from it so i have it all recorded
Had one of the inner plastic guard bolts broken of on the SL125 so went to drill it out and found that had been done before and an easyout had also been broken off in there.. so ground it down till the weldnut came out... easy enough. Grabbed the spare bit of the other frame I had and carefully cut said weldnut out and prepped it all.. dragged out the TIG and 3/4 of the way through welding it up and whoosh... I blow a big hole in the tube.. WTF. Contamination on the tungsten so clean it all up.. regrind it and whoosh... same thing happens... Numpty here then realises.. I had run out of gas.. Meh.. put it all away. That can be next weekend's job to fix. I will pull a front wheel apart just so I an see what the rim is like as there is virtually no rust on the outside.. as I am using the tyre spoons.. one comes straight through the rim... from the inside... so that rim is cactus.. I pulled a second one down andf the rim is pretty good on the inside but the spokes are shot. Might end up being just like as @Murdo said... just end up buying complete rims with new hubs from Thailand.. I have had enough for this weekend.. everything turned to shite... and there is a 7 degree wind chill factor outside.
@Andych Sounds like your better off on the lounge watching MotoGP FP .... like what Im doing .... the only reason Ive been outside is to get more wood .... windchill must be -50c ... its snowing everywhere in the northwest this sure beats a cold shed
N Nice one pal..I'll keep an eye out for the thread. From the limited research I've done, the Innovate LM1/LM2 seem to be some of the smallest and most portable around - I'm looking at it as all in its cheaper than even one dyno session - worth it as i'll get use out of it on the other bikes. I'll let you know if I get hold of it maybe good to compare some data, cheers si - nice work on the exhaust!!!
Bought the shop a new hafco sand blasting cabinet , how did I ever survive with my little desktop one, this thing is awesome I am using the same glass media I used my vapour blaster , the results are fantastic
Not much. A bit of fabricating to get the 636 on the road. But it needed a little bit more work, so I didn't get it registered this week.
