    other bike.... YZF1000R Thunderace
    got a Zuast from gum tree for $60.
    screws were wrong ones and someone already crossed 2 of the 3 internal threads... found 3 bolts to fit (K1300S front brake rotor bolts)
    and all good. Bike revs more freely, and changes gears better, dont know if the exup valve needs adjustment. Seems better anyway, revs out to 10,000 quicker..... going way to quick by then

    The big move is largely done...although it will be a while before the workshop is setup.
    The SRX and SL125 plus some 400cc ring in are in the workshop space as is the mighty Ride on...
    Had a nice 50km ride (I went the long way) to bring the Triumph over late yesterday afternoon so now to get onto the final bits and pieces to be moved and cleaning the old place...
    I am never moving from here... I am too old for this rubbish :)

    Decided the CR250 was clean enough to snap pictures of and post online. Decide to kick it over and rip around the block. Bastard won't start :fuckyou:. Cleaned the carb out and going to throw fresh gas and a plug at it, even though I've never fouled a plug in 12 years of owning it. I only swapped the plug once, and thats when I replaced rings (which it also didn't need)

    First (for me, since buying my bike a week ago) engine oil and filter change on my Yamaha SR250 (it's done a liitle over 54,000 km). I'm a whole lot happier now, as the existing oil was REALLY dark (couldn't even read the level in the "window"!). Up until now, while doing some other work on the bike (while waiting for parts to arrive), I've only done a half dozen short (few hundred yard) runs while testing clutch/ gear change and front & rear brakes. This week I've also fiited a flyscreen (which came with the bike) and a pre-owned rear fender (a rack, not fitted, also came with the bike but needs repainting). Progress - happy days!

    We are still sorting out stuff and figuring where it is all going to go... today my Workshop had some attention. I removed the big ugly ladder the PO had to access the mezzanine and started to rip out the poor excuse for a workbench he had built... He must have used about 4 lengths of 50 x 20 RHS building this thing... and the only welds he made that were any good were the ones holding it in place... it took forever to get out.
    The only sving grace is that I should be able to salvage enough of the RHS to modify the tailgate on my Trailer into a ramp... just not sure when I will get to that little project.
    The FZR400 is residing in the main garage tonight ready to go onto a Trailer so it can head to its new home in Tamworth on Tuesday.. I am sure @GreyImport is looking forward to playing with it :D
    It will now be next weekend before I can do any more on the workshop.... this is how I left it today.

    This was a Pano pic so a little misleading... that pile of rubbish in the middle is all to go to the tip... (not the bench grinder though) . My Industrial shelving workebnch will go on the RHS and I am yet to decide what I will do on the LHS... probably a purpose built bench for my Drill, Press etc.
    Plenty of storage whith all the shelving... I was going to rip it down butit is all welded in :headbang:
    And they have used Melamine for the shelves... I hate white melamine... I think it will all get a coat of paint.

    This is the pile of steel tube that was the workbench... it was 1.2 metres high... too high for me and very ramshackle.

    Those old Wisconsin engines are far too heavy for the amount of power produced, and they only rev to about 2,000 rpm.

    Fresh plug, fresh air filter, fresh gas/oil for the CR250 and the bitch still didn't want to start. Apparently there was a ton of old mix sitting on the cylinder. Once I pulled the plug to check its condition, as well as for spark, she fired off. Got the mix set close to right. Going to let her cool off and see if she wants to start again. Fingers crossed she cooperates, it's long overdue for her to go to a new owner (and me to get something more modern)!

    20221126_130709.jpg Took the GSXR750 2022 Suzuki to Shock Treatment (Terry Hay) on Saturday to get the front suspension sorted out. Rear Shock was fitted with spring for 100kg rider and re-valved and set up 2 months ago. Made a massive difference.
    Front suspension on Saturday had new springs in forks for 100kg rider and RaceTech FK Gold valve kit fitted and tuned for me.
    Only got to ride it home so far, i cannot believe how good the bike handles now, sounds strange but I can now feel how the front wheel is connected with the road, and it turns , brakes, accelerates soooo much better now.

    Not my bike, but my neighbors bikes. Her husband passed away earlier this year and she is getting rid of their motos. crf150rb, yz250f, buell blast, and sv650. None of them have been ridden in probably 5+ years. I started with the crf yesterday, and spent the better part of the day cleaning air filter oil schmoo off of the swingarm, frame, engine, chain guide, chain roller, skid plate, shifter... Not sure who oiled that filter but they had to have used an entire can of the spray oil or dunked it and forgot to wring it. It was bad enough on the swingarm that I was going to pull it until I discovered the swingarm bolt was bent. Pulled the carb bowl which required removing the after market mixture screw...that was installed improperly. screw, washer, spring, o-ring. There wasn't much left of the o-ring. Everything inside was clean though. Chain slider snapped in two places when I was trying to clean it up. Air filter disintegrated as I removed it from the air box and pulled the spark arrestor out. Waiting on an air filter before I try and fire it off. Gas tank had a couple piles of goo in the bottom. Hours of fun cleaning that crap out, let me tell you!

    YZ250f landed in the garage this evening. It still had something in the tank. it didn't smell like fuel or varnish though it was a nice rich brown color. Fuel line snapped at the tank as I removed it from the carb. Tank seemed much cleaner. Ran with the assumption that this bowl was drained as well. Fired off on about the 6th kick (after applying choke) but didn't want to idle. Since I just installed clear hose I thought I'd check to see if I saw gas moving (i.e. float issue) but instead found gas leaking from the connection to the carb. Yamaha was nice enough to use 3 o-rings there, that I likely wont have. It too suffers from air filter schmoo, but only a fraction of what the 150 had. Air filter is of a different material and didn't fall apart when I looked at it. Also noticed that water came out of the overflow tube. I suspect the radiator cap, hope for her sake its not a headgasket, but almost feels good knowing that I can diagnose either. If it's a headgasket she has agreed to sell as-is. I don't have the time for a project like that on top what she has already asked of me.

    couple of o-rings from the FCR litetek kit fit the carb on the yz250. didn't touch the 3rd one since the 2 i replaced should keep the fuel in ;) Filter disintegrated when I looked at it. Cleaned that mess up and decided to fire it off since the filter felt over oiled. Idles but sounds like ****. Revs and doesn't sound any better. Could have been the reflection of the big red box on the other side of the bike but I swear the header was glowing red within 15 seconds of starting. Popped the rad cap which was firmly stuck to the rad so I'm not sure how water could have bypassed it before I pulled the cap. Of course it still wants to drip water when running. Might fire it off tomorrow and use exhaust gas detector kit in the rad to see if my suspicion is correct re: head gasket failure. Only took 1/2hr to clean up the air filter schmoo from the swingarm/frame. airbox is going to be another story.

    Neighbors Buell Blast is on the lift. I think it should burn where it sits and I haven't even ridden the thing yet. Between the 3 bikes so far this was the easiest carb to get in/out, and I know the sv650 isn't going to win that dept. Blast carb was also the dirtiest. Pilot and main jets where clogged, as was the choke circuit. Got the carb pulled, cleaned, and put back in. Mileage showed 4558. Poor thing is 17 years old and maybe on its 3rd oil change. Also former MSF course bike, so most of those miles were in 1st gear and I'm certain the clutch has seen its fair share of abuse. Battery was dead shorted internally, so I pulled the battery out of my DRZ. 9AH battery is baaarely enough to chug over that bigass piston, but enough. Seems to idle fine, but runs like **** otherwise. I have a feeling the auto-enricher/TPS are finicky piles of crap, but that's based on a feeling and not a fact (yet.) Good news is the service manual says I'll be dropping this off elsewhere to be fixed if I don't have some miracle ideas overnight. Requires special tools for TPS setting that I'm not about to invest in.
