Picked up this old girl today. Not quite a 250 bit I hope she'll slip under the radar in super moto trim

I had to buy new ones as mine were impossible to fit

Put the rubbers in hot water or the hot sun beforehand

try with the rubbers on the air box first or with them on the carbys first then the the airbox pushed in

a little bit of silicone spray or rubber grease may help .... just smeared on the joining surfaces

and a whole heap of patience!

Tensioned the head stem bearings and gave her a bath. Also polished the windscreen. Looks a million dollars (almost)

I need to take it to work for some welding first. I believe there is a very small hole... I will give you a ring :) also in my quest to tighten the bolts I managed to snap a header bolt FFS!

Took off the spare tank from Scarlet and checked the carburetor. The inside still looks nice and clean but i heard a strange rattle. Opened up the top cover and found one of the two screws holding the cylindrical slide onto the throttle linkage had come out! Screwed it back in and put everything back together including her original tank with the replacement petcock.

Left the battery charging so I can take her for a ride without losing the electrics while I wait for the replacement reg/rec to arrive.

While shifting down the lever felt very soft/loose, then that clunk happened
