Ive had a few problems with my 250r. it seems at higher rpms it is pinging or the rpms are bouncing above 6k anyone have ideas? when i got it from my brother in law he left it set for a year so i had to clean the carb and jets out. it is fine when your below or around 5k but anything over that it pings then shuts down and i have to wait a min or 2 then it will run again. what kind of plug is in it? that is where i was going to go first. oh by the way its a 2010 250r from the U.S.

U have to make sure the airbox snorkel is still stiff and strong.
If its soft it will fold and collapse under higher revs. U can put a bit of tubing in to sort out this problem!

Also check the ignition coil isnt breaking down under high revs on a coil tester.
Good luck! let us know how u go!

I know Megellis in the USA are rare since the ex importer did a stupid job with them.

still having the problem going to check the air box tubing but checked the coil and it was fine put a inline fuel filter that seemed to help a little. its wierd i can drive 50 all day long but once i go faster then that it struggles. i forgot to add i had to replace the fuel petcock (which was hard to find) so i might replace all of the vacuum lines with more sturdy hoses. does anyone have a diagram of the vacuum hoses?

There is only 1 vaccum line going from the intake to the petcock. If you have replaced it with a manual version, you will need to block that hole.

thanks, I'm quite puzzled. I've also noticed that it does not always. When the engine is cold, no failures of any kind in the acceleration. I'll keep looking and failure to have both. Greetings.

sounds electrical.do you have a spare ecu module?i assume your motor is air cooled?all megelli motors come from zong shen factory.take off seat to expose wiring and spray each connection when separated with electrical contact cleaner. then move to all other connections.google the carburettor.

Mi Megelli it is water cooled, have a radiator on the front, over the lights. About the carb, I can't find no references. I try to get any clue about the TK MV34, but have no luck :(

once it is hot is it hard to start???? this is the first sign of tight tappetts on the valves ,particularly inlet valve.adjust to 6 thousands of an inch for inlet and 8 thou on exhaust. to do you need to remove seat, petrol tank and then little fingers to access.some minor parts will also need to be removed. for the exhausts help if you have monkey fingers.to adjust youi need feeler gauges, screwdriver and a small 6 mm spanner.until that has been done you are wasting your time. i know it is a pain but is step one.will try again to contact sihn and let you know his suggestion.

second step is to use contact cleaner on the round connection[top rhs of seat]push together and turn for it to come apart that is for the voltage regulator[finned doodad].spray with contact cleaner so that correct power is going to the electricals. 3rd step is to diconnect ECU that is at lower back of motor. should be a black box. earlier ones could cause problems. spray connections of both wiring loom and ecu with contact cleaner.if clean reconnect. test ride to see if any difference. the air filter has a plastic internal cone to keep the foam filter open. is it still their?if you test ride with the lid off the airbox you should pick up one and a half horsepower.

Well, yesterday I change the oil and clean the oil filter. After that, reduce very much the noise, and today a ride some kilometres and don't have issues. I think that maybe there is some rust in the carb, but I have not valor to disarm with out any diagram of reference to re asembly later.

    hey Christian

I have been searching for a diagram for the TK MV34 on the Internet but have come up short, I found the TK website and have e-mailed them for a copy of a digram and manual. Not sure if I will get one, but I am a firm beliver in asking, the worse thing they can say is no.

    thanks

    Chris
