Do the original Spada plug caps have a 5K resistor?
The recommended plugs are 5K resistor so I would think not.

The reason I ask is because my front cylinder came with a non original
90 degree NGK 5K cap, so it doesn't snug into the head like the original would have, and the wire has to run along side the engine to the coil.
I cant find an original so I'll have to find a 120 degree cap and improvise.
I measured the original rear cap and lead and it is around 4.9K
My Googling says the 5K resistor should be either cap or plug, never both.
So why do Honda supply resistor wires and also specify resistor plugs?
    Cheers, Andy

    Hi Andy,
After looking at my Spada, my understanding is as follows:
The Spada and other Hondas around that period run resistor plug caps. There is a 5k resistor in the cap. The leads are straight copper leads (no resistance). The actual plugs are common with a number of other models, CR9EH-9, which I believe are resistor plugs. I checked a new plug and it measures at about 4 - 5k.
So total resistance per cylinder is approx 10k which is on a par with other engines.
    Peter.
