hi all. i'm about to go inspecting a bike at a bike shop. i don't want to get ripped off for a lousy bike so can you guys give me some suggestions of things i should do or check when inspecting the bike? and is it ok to negotiate a bike selling from a bike shop? i feel a little bit inappropiate but i really can't afford it myself if the price stay fixed. is cbr250rr's engine still good when the speedo is showing 54k? seems a bit too much for me...thanks for reading and any suggestions welcome. thanks

    Hey Yong

I write this a while back, Im sure it will helpwith you choosing  new bike

    thanks

    Chris

As I buy and sell a few bikes in my spare time, a few people have asked me what to look for when buying a used motorcycle. Choosing where you buy your used motorcycle will largely depend on your budget, as dealerships usually charge a premium over private sales. If you buy from a dealer, take advantage of their knowledge and ask as many questions you can about the bike.  Buying from a private party can be a more personal experience, the owner may regale tales about the motorcycle in question and it can be an emotive sale, in saying that, private sellers are usually also more flexible on price as well.

    My Pre Purchase Checklist.

    1. Visual Inspection - First off have a good look at the motorcycle, look for telltale signs that the bike has been on its side. Scratches and rash on the fairings, handlebars, foot controls and handlebars are sure signs it

thanks chris. i haven't riden a 250 before so i'm just gonna ask some questions again. for a good bike, do i have to pull the choke too everytime i want to start the motorbike? if the bike is too tall for me what should i do? ask the seller if the seat can be lowered? haha..and the same old question, if the speedo is showing 54000 km..will it be too old? thanks again
