yeah, there were all these stupid big bikes that would go faster in the straights then SLOW around the corners. It was frustrating...

Awesome fun though, ill post up next time im going so anyone else interested can go, i go with people and get group discount.

Thats no good about the rain, sorry I couldn't come, didn't have enough cash.. I went with my mate who was going on a ford drive from winsor up putty rd.. Man was that fun.. 6 BA fords hitting speeds of 200, Was awesome...Also that rd would be awesome to take the bikes along..there is fuel at the halfway house, so the bikes wont run out and be stranded somewhere...I think we should do it for our next ride.. really nice corners and some long straights...

Yeah it was pissing down rain!
It was good though... gave me confidence to start riding in the rain!

Thanks to Dave for trying to organise the ride, even though it didn't go according to plan!

Slowly building up confidence in the twisties, I'll get there eventually!

Next track day is saturday the 26th of may.

http://www.oroadsports.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16202

i use ORoads as well, so if anyone else is on there just book through that site, other wise i can see if i can get a spot for you. Its looking like there will be enough people to get a group booking price of $160 (rather than the chump price of $200).

They are really good fun and it would be great to see some other FZR's out there!

Bad luck for you riders with the rain. Went for a bit of a ride with a few friends Sunday and got a about a 2 minute sprinkle on the way back home but if we had been 10 or 15 minutes later it would have a downpour as we could see the storm cell coming directly across our path. Otherwise it was a glorious day in NW Tasmania.

Wow I sure haven't been here in a while. I remember I went to the last Sydney ride about 2 years ago now. If you boys/girls organise another 1 i'll try to pop by. Don't make it too far out west!

AMc,

I'll look into the track day at Eastern Creek. I did 2 at Oran Park recently, 1 during Febuary and 1 in March. Have you been there before?

I'd definitely say don't go on the track unless you have full leathers. Whilst some tracks don't stipulate that, most will and its with good reason! If you come off at upwards of 100km/h and are spinning and flailing around, a non-joined textile and draggins combo will get pulled apart exposing your back, ribs & stomach to some nasty road rash.
Most places do have a hire section for leathers though, and for the ~$50 that it is down at Phillip Island i'd recommend getting them. On the other hand keep an eye out for a bargain as i bought my full one piece race leathers including a pair of sliders for $300! It's not a perfect fit, but its close enough that it fits properly.
