I guess the line "...However I have never had it running." is the underlying issue.

I didn't realize they were such a lemon? I've seen a couple at VJMC events and they seemed to run pretty good.

Much better. Might be a good buy at that price too.

Saw that today, sent to my mate at work who is going to buy it this weekend, I may be responsible for him becoming infatuated with 250 fours after he got a ride on the pink bitch, even with its sad carbs.

He is looking for a new commuter, and the price is right, nothing that can't be fixed.

Considering he currently rides a CB125E, GSXR125 or old CB250 it will be a massive upgrade.

He's banned himself from larger capacity bikes, too much trouble with the plod

EDIT: my mate has changed his mind and will find a better running/registered example. Maybe I will buy this one for spares

This $500 dunger is now mine. I took some jumper leads and a 5L can of 91 with me today to go and look at it.

The fuel ended up on the ground due to it having a split fuel line, but it does turn over, build oil pressure, selects all gears, rolls and stops freely. Has oil in the engine and coolant in the cooling system.

Plan is I will rip the engine and carbs out of it to keep for spares and offload the rest as a complete roller or send it to the wreckers for whatever they will give me for it.

It needs too much work to get back to roadworthy - forks, tyres, chain and sprockets, rusted tank, carb overhaul, plus whatever else I find, and I just don't have the time or inclination.

Picked up and delivered to workshop yesterday.

Plan is to drop the engine and carbs, and junk the rest.

However I am tempted to rip the tank off, replace the split fuel line, hook up some remote fuel and a battery and see if it will go.

A job for tomorrow, after work.

Couldn't help myself, got stuck into it on lunch break. Tank off, replaced fuel line, hooked up remote fuel and car battery with some leads, cranked for a bit then it started firing, full choke and it came to life on all 4 cylinders straight away and it sounds very healthy. Have video but will need to get home and upload it there.

Runs that well I'm tempted to save it, but may just swap the engine and carbs (and jet to 3LN6 spec) over into the FZR while I wait for my FCRs to arrive.

Then over Christmas I can play mechanic and rebuild the FZRs engine and carbs then stick them back in the Zeal, fix it up for rego and sell. Or keep, it's much more comfortable for Mrs Linkin on the back.

Before using it, create a laser scanned 3D model, so others can print it when it gets even more impossible to find one! :)
