Much better than me, my videos are crap. I'll have to delete and redo them one day. Love that Bimota SB8.
@maelstrom and others who were chasing the FZR400 bottom ends exploding due to insufficient oiling, have a look at this problem in a KTM cylinder head
You could draw that in a CAD program and easily calc that surface area. Also I can't see the bottom of the hole and whether the are behind it is closed off. Imagine you cut 2mm off the length of the squirter then the gallery behind it should be full. Anyway, @Linkin is on point with the 400 crank which is this kind of issue.
This one is interesting, good for you @Linkin, watch what happens to the signal from the ignition trigger when it gets hot. Makes me want to buy one of those Pico doovers.
Thanks @maelstrom That video is GOLD - scopes the dwell time on the coils, @Frankster - very interesting! Measures and scopes the spark plug coil trigger signal - notice that when they do fire there's actually a resonance - the big fat spark that we see is actually a sequence of sparks AND he scopes and measures the crank trigger - I'm fairly certain that it's the zero crossing point which is what triggers the ECU to fire, that's why the noise around the zero volts messes everything up.
This is a good one for any of us that are at some point afflicted with carb cleaning - some valuable tips within, I won't spoil it
it lives again... the mini mill, that is. been a few years. what a saga. still far from finished. air... coolant... some sort of shield cover thingy. i got chips in my shoes, my hair, my butt crack... cant embed shorts. you get to click links instead https://youtube.com/shorts/IVL3gwteZ0o?si=Xew3EIKPdgGwi7M6 just making a mess... 8mm carbide endmill? PLAY-DOH! yeah. ummmm... last half circle. hit the packer. bang. was going so nicely... mmmm, hi-res
A short little video I stumbled across today. An Aussie made 750 V8 Drysdale being warmed up. FZR400 heads with a flat plane crank and 17,000 rpm redline... What a lovely sound. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/F5tkMycW8DE
