Sweet, thanks for sharing the pics

Yeah, but first I really need a service and tune (hopefully by the end of this week) then a nice race suit from the Scorpion Gear place in Narre Warren...

Then I'll be happy to blaze around a track!!!

By the way, how much are the photos??

Wow, you guy's don't have to tape off all of the glass and plastics for a track day?!?! Meaning the turn signals, head and tail lights. Doesn't sound like too good an idea. Over here in the states, it is required on every track I've been too. They don't let you have antifreeze/coolant in your system either.

But hey, thanks a ton for the pics.

At some track days you do, others you don't. Probably depends on who is running it. I've been told (when I bought my bike) that it is a great track bike as it is easy to remove the turn signals and mirrors, and the rest is easily taped.

i know all those rules apply for racing, and a lot of guys / gals there did it anyway. i'm just a bit of an allround novice so it was all new to me.

Yup, its on again. Sunday Oct 30 at Broadford, VIC: http://www.championsridedays.com.au $125
Just booked in today, time to thrash the poor little fizzer again!!
For anyone whos interested, I did my first track day with these guys a couple of months back and found them to be very well run and no problems for beginners (they offer graded groups). Great fun day, and the track at Broadford kind of suits the 250 as there's plenty of corners and no ridiculous long straights to get overtaken by the bigger fellas. About a 1hr ride (or drive with trailer) from melb cbd up the Hume.
Would be nice to see another 250 (non stroker) there this time!

If i can rise up the $125... i will pack the spare CBX250 and come up... it would be SO funny overtaking ALL other bikes in the corrners!!!

yeah its funny man. They all scream past you on their new r6/cbrrr/duc's etc down the short straight and then slam on their brakes way early and totter round the corners - kind of pisses you off when you have a single front disc brake system and have to try and pull up without rear-ending them. I actually found myself going round the OUTSIDE of bikes in corners because i had so much more corner speed.
Of course this was in the BEGINNER group, so I'm not blowing my own trumpet or anything, but you can hold your own on a 250 at this track.

Nice!
Whilst i don't think i'm gonna be riding for this one... if i get the chance i might come up there with the camera and do some shooting for the day. (Says friends and family are free for entry, and photography is permitted )

Also interesting to note that there appears to be no requirement of full leathers! Just says complete coverage of safety gear. That said, i think i'd rather get some leather pants first incase i decide to go road luging.

and there were quite a few who decided to do the same thing (road luging that is). Expensive drop of the day - an old dude on a BRAND NEW (showroom condition) BMW K1200, chucking it down the hill. His comment after was "now i've got an excuse for the wife for a good aftermarket can" - the original was pretty skuffed up! Also saw a GSXR600 (surprise surprise) run out of road (result - ambulance unfortunately) and a honda cbr1000rr lowside - guy came out alright and oggy knobs certainly limited the damage.
There were several ducs and even a couple of MV Agustas there, and it was good to see these types of "show-off" bikes being flogged around the track. No offs though.
Speaking of flogging, the fizzer got another absolute caning, the only way to stay with the bigger bikes being to keep the revs above 12000. Occasionally, when i missed an upchange (was going for the clutchless up shifts), i swear i nearly blew the thing up. It was certainly screaming.
It was a great day, much busier than last time, but again, WHERE ARE ALL THE 250's??? I was the only one there (out of probably 100 bikes), not another fzr, cbr250, gpx, across, zxr250...... NOTHING!
Seriously, its a great way to gain confidence cornering, i know you have to pay money, but $125 ain't too bad for a decent buzz.
Will post the next one.

Interesting to see they didn't even make you tape up your mirrors or lights! Personally i'd be taking my mirrors off just to eliminate the distraction of always looking behind me!

I'll see how things go over the next few months (financially) and i'll try and join you for the next track day.

I did flip the mirrors in so i couldn't see behind - as you say its a distraction. But taking them off unbolts the top fairing aswell so it flaps around too much - stupid 2kr design. (still, i could buy some nuts/bolts to temporarily keep it in place if i wasnt so lazy)
It'll be a few months i reckon before i do another one - hopefully you'll have the $$$ by then koma.

Don't blame the 2KR, the 3LN has the same design - but yeah i was thinking if you just take along a couple of rubber washers and a few nuts and bolts it would remove that distraction.

Yep, i was looking at the website and figured that they do them every few months. So with any luck by the end of January or so i'll have some leather pants, and i might be on something a little bit different to the current steed.
