http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/motorcycles/come-2014-triumph-will-launch-250cc-twin-cylinder-motorcycle-in-india-and-indonesia-66407/ could this make it down under ? Across the world, the 250-400cc motorcycle segment is simply exploding and the epicenter for all this action is turning out to be the second largest two wheeler market in the world, India. UK based Triumph is setting shop in India and wants to establish a factory that won’t just assemble motorcycles, but will also produce them from grounds up. Narsapur, a 50 kilometer drive away from Bangalore, India, is the place that Triumph is said to be eyeing for its Indian factory. Apart from CKD assembly of motorcycles like the Bonneville, Street Triple 675 and the Speed Triple, Triumph will produce a 250cc-twin cylinder motorcycle from this very factory.
This announcement from Triumph comes as no surprise to me, the Indian/Asian market eclipses all other markets in the world. It's a no brain er with such a massive population, very favourable labour cost and a constant growing market segment, why wouldn't you look at India! Lets not forget transport cost by comparison to Europe, this plan by Triumph has great merit and makes such good sense. Will be watching with great interest Triumphs next move.
2013 EICMA: Triumph Quarter-Liter Twin Confirmed for 2014 http://www.autoevolution.com/news/2...rter-liter-twin-confirmed-for-2014-70488.html If they base it on the Speed Triple it should look pretty cool.
