I have just removed the rocker cover to seal the oil leaks coming from the rocker shafts and I noticed the left side inlet valve springs are low on tension as the valve can be pushed open by hand with little effort.
I am in the UK and have tried David Silver Spares and CMSNL in Holland but they either don't have stock or it is not on the spares list.
Does anyone have an alternative or know where I can order original Valve springs from.
I have now removed the head and apart from the valve springs all is good and with in spec, I will lap all the valves in and fit new Valve stem seals.
I have owned this fabulous little bike for 11 years and it is great for getting around London and runs out to Surrey and other areas.
They are a modern version of a Rudge Whitworth 250

I replaced valves and springs recently in a customer engine. He bought the parts from the local honda agent AFAIK.
Try asking for XR/XL parts. They are the same engine with only minor differences - but much more common.

If by a modern Rudge, you mean that the valve gear/head is the weak point, then yes, I'd agree.
Both could be better in that area.
