    Hi All,
Just an update. The fuel seal part that is used on Mikuni BDST carbs has been a nightmare for five years as all attempts to produce it in Viton have not gone well. Well now the problem is solved. The company that is doing these produces for Honda amongst others and has done a fantastic job. Without further ado I am proud to show our new finished product. I couldn't get them done in Green so black it is.

I have a set of Litetek seals in the carbs on my TRX850, everything fitted very well and no leaks. These are really good and very reasonably priced!

By the way, if you want to make float bowl seals for the Honda CBX250RS/Keihin PH02 (and maybe other XRs of the time?) that would be wonderful :D

    Price Changes:
Due to increased efficiency and exchange rates that are hurting our best customers, we are reducing our prices. Some of the cuts are significant and some not so much. All of the 250's have been completed and I am working now on the Suzuki and Kawasaki larger models.
    Cheers

The video didn't play well on my phone, did you say 60% sulphuric acid solution? Surely there's a better solution for testing buoyancy?

I am testing specific gravity and there are not many liquids that have a specific gravity high enough to do this (60% H2SO4 has an SG of 1.5). Most NBR will sink in water (SG of about 1.1) and very few elastomers are as heavy as FKM (SG of 1.8). This is a relatively easy way for me to test, and I also checked it with a lab in Canada that I have used in the past and they confirmed it was valid and a good idea. I do give that explanation on the webpage http://litetek.co/MikuniBDSTFuelSealViton.html

You couldn't get a salt mix to get that high a specific gravity? Even just 1.2? Just that concentrated sulphuric acid can be hazardous.

Then you are only proving that it is not NBR. To narrow the search you need something heavier.
