Hi everyone. I need to take my throttle position sensor off and good old google told me I need a torx Alan key. So I went and bought the bit I need but turn out I found this bolt

Can anyone please tell me what tool I need for this?

Yeah I got a torx Allen key set. It's called a security screwdriver piece. I should have looked before I went and brought it lol.

Did you get the wrong size? Or is it different to those.

It's a torx Allen key bit, but the bit I need has a hole in the middle

I've got a set of those sockets. Carbies quite often have a similar screw on them somewhere. I think I bought them at Bunnings fromm memory.

Don't feel bad mate, good to have the extra tools all the same. I had the same dilemma a few years back when trying to remove the lock set on a Suzuki. My mechanic was kind enough to lend me one, came off no problem.

I watched a you tube video and it was made in America. His bike had the what I would call the normal torx screw. And also there is 2 other plugs that I need to disconnect to get to the sensor. Is it normal for American bikes and Aussie bikes to have slight differences? (Just out of curiosity)

    That's definitely a Security Torx.

They used to be on various PCs the manufacturers didn't want users fiddling with, so I've seen them plenty of times.

I have a screwdriver set somewhere that came with a whole bunch of unusual bits, these were some of the more normal-looking ones! Funnily enough it was given to me by a customer when I was doing mobile IT work for home users...

The usual differences with Yanky (or European too) bikes is in the lighting or styling. Most mechanical bits are the same.
