As the title says, I'm looking for info on what's inside the standard instrument assembly of tacho, speedo, water temp and the row of lights.
I've got a good set but only want to use the tacho and possibly the temp gauge but I'm reluctant to start splitting it all up.
Can anyone tell me if the separate instruments are in their own cases or open to the inside of the larger casing.
Anyone separated out the tacho for a race application ?

    Thanks
    Greg

Edit - dammit I mean split not spilt...apparently you can't edit the title...

I've got a broken FZR400 one, can take some photos but from what I can see you don't want to go trying to split it.

I did split my old FZR250 set to have a look to see if I could use them on the SRX ages ago... they were cactus anyway.
The issue is that the backing housing for them is all 1 piece. The guts of the gauge do come out but you would have to fabricate a new housing for it and it probalbly isnt worth it... there are some excellent (and cheap) Electronic items on the market.

Yeah - if I didn't already have this set I might have gone that way. I've stripped out the speedo anyway - it was the heaviest bit.
As you say, not in individual cases despite at least one parts book showing just that.
