Just wondering if anyone else is going to this?

I will be heading down on the Friday, leaving Mount Waverley around 1pm, and camping at the track. If anyone would like to ride down with myself and a friend (actually my father-in-law on a trx850) let me know. We will stick to the speed limit etc. on our way as there is always a large police presence on race weekends.

Or, if you are only going down for a day and want to catch up PM me and I will give you my mobile number. I should have my phone on most of the time (it may be off sometimes to conserve battery...)

mmm i'd like to be in on that boz - would love to have a run on that TRX if possible (my choice for next upgrade)!! However it looks like my bike may be sold this weekend which leaves me two wheels short of a definite. I'm off overseas the weekend after the superbikes.
If i can wangle the boss's bike for the weekend i may still make it. Even thinking about hiring a bike to get down there.
The best thing about the Superbikes is you're free to ride your bike around the track to find the best spot. So much more laid back and easy than the GP.

Good luck with the sale! The TRX is a fun bike to ride - much easier than the inline 4's i've owned. With that said I love being able to rev my bike to make it go. The trx redlines at 8000 rpm... :-( If you do join us you'll have to negotiate to ride the TRX. As with most people his bike is his pride and joy.
Where to?
If you can make it and interested in riding with us let us know!
Agreed with that!

i'm still a maybe. Bike sale is still in negotiation.
Man its a pain is the arse, I've had about 15 boofheads and test pilots come and look at the bike - and then either never call again or (even more annoying) make an offer they then cancel the next day!
if i go it'll probably just be on the sunday as well.
Boz I'm off to South America for two months travelling, surfing, and anything else non work-related.
Can't wait. just hope the bike sells or spending money will be a little scarce.

When i get back I'll be after a new bike. Any chance yours will be for sale winter time boz? I'd like a yzf750 but they are damn rare - especially the post 1995 ones.

nope, mine won't be for sale. I am keeping it for along time! There is little chance of finding another in as good condition, and it is so easy to modify (if I only had the time and the money - I keep getting ideas over at the brotherhood).

I'll be heading down there on the Sunday - here is a copy / paste of how I'm getting there (with a group of 5+ other non-FZR (therefore lesser) riders.)

So - Tooradin pub ~8am on Sunday is where to meet up - if anyone wants to come along

Alternatively if you guys want to meet up at Hampton, be there at 7am address is written above...

Great races all round! My highlight though apart from the racing was:

Friday night, up at the entertainment area in the campground. For those unfamiliar - there is a bit of tarmac where people (usually drunk) will come up with their bikes at night and do a burn-out and then ride back down to the campground.

All is good - a few nice burnouts, and a few not-so good. At one point a guy came up on a relatively new gsx-r 1000, probably a 2004 or something. As he rode up I could tell he didn't have a shirt on, but that isn't anything too exciting. Tried burn-out #1... failed. Moved a little and tried #2. This one was going a well but bike started moving, guy lost control, and dropped and he fell to the ground it in front of 300+ people. Lots of cheering etc at this point. Then the smoke cleared, the guy stood up and completely naked (lots more cheering). Flashes everywhere, he quickly grabs his bike, stands it up with some help of others, and rides off quite quickly clipping 2 people waiting for their fries at the chip wagon.

Perhaps you had to be there, but it was darn funny to watch!
