The boys (and one or two girls I think) are in Estoril this weekend.

    https://www.mcnews.com.au/2022-fim-superbike-world-championship-round-three-estoril/

Little Bayliss is being joined by 2 other Aussies in WorldSSP, so more to cheer for. Jeez, he looks like his old man...

Ducati and Bautista leading the way at the moment. Will he crack or has he learned to pace himself? Time will tell. He threw away a title in his maiden year, so here's hoping he makes up for it this year.

Yes, the kids had a good weekend all over the place. As the chief said, little Bayliss finished 6th in the last supersport race (in varying conditions) and little Doohan finished second (after putting it on poll) in the last F2 race of the weekend.

Bautista and Ducati hanging on to their lead in the championship; Rea closing in; Toprak with work to do. It's between these three for the championship. Other riders might have a good weekend now and again, but one of these three will win it. Toprak doesn't seem to have the bike under him to get the job done. It's only aggression and superb riding skills that are keeping him in the hunt (I think). Rea is amazing; after how long he has been at it to still be that hungry for victory. A true Champion.

The WSBK show is in Misano this weekend and the Ducatis have started the weekend off on the right foot. Doesn't look like Yamaha are in the fight, but I'm sure Toprak will dig deep and make a fight of it.

I don't think Yamaha have been in the fight since forever. Toprak is just like Quartararo, has to perform miracles. Hey Ducati MotoGP team need a rider?

Yamaha doing a lot better in Supersport class. Little Bayliss is inside the top 15, so two thumbs up. MV Augusta in 7th and tied with Triumph in 8th.

Toprak is definitely the X-factor for Yamaha in WSBK, but Locatelli is doing okay too. I just think this year Toprak has really been handicapped by his bike or probably the other bikes have improved. Honda have been MIA for a while now, but Lecuona seems to be able to ride it better than his predecessor, who just happens to be able to ride the Ducati better than his predecessor who just happens to able to ride his BMW better...no wait...scratch that.

Probably best not to write Toprak off just yet.

The 'Curse of Frankster' strikes again...little Bayliss crashed out of both Supersport races this weekend. Sorry Ollie, I promise not to mention you in a positive light in any of my posts again!

I saw race one and most of race two. Somebody give that lad a faster bike. Also saw a bit of the Le Mans 24hr where one on the prototype drivers punted the Corvette into the fence on the Mulsanne straight. Talk about stupid driving. If I was a mechanic in the Corvette team, I would have completely lost it. A move like that in bike racing could result in death and would be black flagged immedietly. Yes, yes, I don't know anything about car racing and this is how dickheads drive cars etc, doesn't mean I have to like it. Poor Corvette, I haven't followed it closely but I know they have been trying to win Le Mans for some time and every time they get close **** happens.

That's the beauty of live streaming. I was also watching Le Mans and saw the exact same incident you referred to. The driver of the LMP2 car that caused the accident was very upset with himself and went to the Corvette team to apologise for his error. Doesn't help the team, but at least it's an admission and apology. Corvette have done okay at Le Mans over the years. I'm a big Corvette fan, so I have followed them along the way. Kevin Magnussen's dad drove for the team for the longest time. This is a good article if you're interested. Kevin drives for Haas F1.

Father and son tried to race together at Le Mans.

And my favourite Le Mans Corvette is this 600ci monster that raced in the USA IMSA series and then they took to Le Mans. This thing clocked 225mph down the then chicane-less straight. Someone pass me a towel.

Okay, WSBK is in the UK this weekend. Interesting story on the McNews website about where it all began.

"The winners of the inaugural two WSBK contests at Donington were Davide Tardozzi on a Bimota and Marco Lucchinelli on the lone Ducati in the field. Other podium finishers that weekend included Joey Dunlop, Fred Merkel and Roger Burnett."

Well, Race 1 at Donington certainly changed the championship picture. Without spoiling it for anyone, here is the points standings after the race. Rea just never gives up.

Interesting watching Redding wringing the neck of the BMW when following Rea during superpole and then battling with Lowes in the race ..... that thing looked all over the shop while the Kawa was rock solid ... I thought Redding was headed for the weeds
