I tend to own my bikes for about 6 months then sell them to buy another, its fun and i get to ride a heap of different bikes. Recently I sold my SV650S and I have been considoring buying a new bike, I still have a 3 x 250's in the garage and will always have at least 1 registered, but I have been looking for my "next bike". So the question begs, after your 250, whats your next bike... for me I have always wanted a stock standard RGV250 or an Aprillia RS250, however I test rode a brand new Suzuki GSR750 and Im absolutely smitten... what have you got your eye on ? Chris
It will be a while before I can convince the financial officer to let me get one but I do like the look of the Royal Enfield. Although I may get a project bike before this one. I am not sure what I want for the project bike just yet.
I am a sucker for RGV's. Favourite bike of all time. Cheap and easy to fix and work on plus they give the biiger bikes a good run for thier money.
So far I believe I'm hankering after a 2005/06 Kawasaki ZX-6R. It'll be a big purchase for me so I'll be tracking down one I like - i.e. a blue one. I don't believe it's a LAMS approved number so none of this will happen until at least March 2012. Tell you what though - I'll miss the Across 'boot'.
Hey Brad I couldn't agree with you more, the Across has 'Le Boot' and it is so handy, strange that this storage facility hasn't caught on. Just recently I removed the carrier and bag on my CBR and have found that that I'm always looking for storage, might re.install it, it is very handy. Been watching the Temps up your neck of the woods, not conducive to bike riding at all, bloody winter. Cheers Phil
Probably an sv650 or whatever they call the lams FZ6r with some DIY derestricting ill reserve my opinion till i ride either but i've fallen in love with v twins as of late ;D so the SV is probably more likely. Whatever it is it must have FI though!
nothing wrong with the SV650 Desmo, I just sold mine. I just test rode a 1998 GSXR750 and after 10 mins, my wrists were killing me. Insane acceleration and handling, but its not the bike for me. Chris
Tis a nice Ninja innit Slender - I'm really smitten with the blue. Yeah it's cold Kiffsta - did a ride up to Bendigo on Saturday to attend an advanced riding course put on gratis by HART and Vic Roads. Pretty wet all the way there, then four hours doing the course, which was very good btw, then it started pissing down so I stayed the night at a mate's place. Left in the morning to be back at work - 7
Well, it ain't easy to select a new bike today because we have such choices. Currently riding my 2005 Honda CBR1100 super Blackbird and my Suzuki GT250 X7 so what more could one ask for. I am looking for comfort and to this end have my eye set on a Suzuki GSR750. Trouble with me is I love my bird and will probably regret selling it, hell of a dilemma. Think comfort will win out on the day. Phil
Well I have had a change of heart. Lately find myself drawn to the new Kawasaki Z750. Motor are very responsive and they look awesome. Seating is more upright which is what I am looking for. Being semi naked, easy to access most area's. Spoken to several owners of these z750 and all are delighted with there machines, did I mention that they are very well priced also. Time will tell, but I do like them. Phil
Took a 1998 ZX-6R for a squirt on the weekend - apparently they're the only ZX-6R that's LAMS approved! Me liked - very much - in imaculate nick too with approx 17000km on the clock.
As a new rider, I look forward to a few rides b4 getting my heart set on any one dream bike. Booked in to do my Q-ride and get my open's tuesday week :hello2:, and have a VZ800 marauder in the shed awaiting a run. Had to give the cruiser style a run to check the comfort levels. Am also keen to give the v-strom a go for a while, and I'm also eyeballin' the cagiva v-raptor down the track. Speaking to Chris (kiffsta) this arvo, will come for a ride with you guys soon , either when I get the Across back on the road or after opens and proven the reliability of the 'rauder (only just got it). Great forum for local's...keep up the good work...ride safe. Cheers :occasion14: Jim
LAMS approved you say? does this go for the regulations in Victoria? I would be quite keen to get my hands on one.
the 636 kwaka's are awesome bikes, a mate of mine owns one, looks much better than the newer ones imo... Slender I don't know if you saw the '74 enfield on ebay a few weeks back, I went to see that, good bike, a bit rough though, and the owner didn't know anything about what was done to make it adr approved. I'm very keen to get one, however I don't like the new ones, my uncle owns a '67 bullet 350 back in India, he lives in Pune, where the factory is, so I'd really love to bring one over considering they cost the equivalent of $2000 brand new there, and used ones go all the way down to $100 equivalent. They still make the Indian bullets exactly as they have been making them for the last 50 years. As for what I would like when I get on my blacks: OR ;D
Yeah apparently the 98 model slipped through the VicRoads radar. I checked the rego sticker and it had all the LAMS printing on it. Crazy to think you could see one with L-Plates on it.
Thats really weird...kinda makes me feel bad that i didnt know this before i bought my cbr250rr haha, however i am really enjoying it.
